Changes vs Hawthorn

Wines out Cornes in is easy.

If Lobbe is back then either Mitchell or Ah Chee goes out... Not so easy.

Mitchell played quite well, but in terms of team balance Ah Chee might be better. Mitchell has been a weapon coming on as the sub though, so that's a factor.

Also, in terms of development getting games into Ah Chee is more important than getting games into Mitchell.

Just the same you could drop both of them and bring Andrew Moore in. Maybe that's the best choice?

He argued with the umps in the first quarter, he played poorly in that quarter. After quarter time he was impressive.
To be fair, the umps seemed to be making stuff up in the 1st quarter today, the last quarter wasn't a great example of league level umpiring either...

At what point does Hoff get labelled as a liability. At least up forward.

Not sure how an all action 200cm running machine that pops up in every known position on the field during the course of a game can ever be a liability. Regardless of how many touches he gets, he probably accounts for about 10% of the opposition's planning each week.

Yeah I do agree something was happening because every time he went near the ball he was getting pinged. Remonstrated pretty heavily with the ump at the end of the qtr. Loved Stewart's game though.

The most suitable replacement for wines is moore but we need a tagger to quell mitchell so cornes will replace ollie

Their smalls kill us as well as their wingers; smith hill rioli pupolo breust.

White should go to smith
Kane mitchell to play the full game with hill ill back him in after he did well on gibson
Krakouer on rioli
Jonas on breust because of his marking ability

In: cornes
Out: wines (inj)

I dont expect lobbe to get up for the game and for ah chee to miss but would occur if he is right

Played with a bit of aggression in the 2's. Natural replacement for ollie.
last night showed that we need big assed mids to help out Boak Wines and. brad. If Ollie is out then we need to replace him with Stuart or Moore. God I hope Loobe is fit and we will play Kane against the Hawks unless Mitchell is out.

Lobbe ( if fit ) and Cornes are certainties to come into next week's line up, I'm not sure who would go out apart from Ollie, but there would be some very sore boys from last night's encounter who may not come up, eg Whitey.

Arch showed enough to retain his place, and it appears he has leapfrogged Moore in the pecking order atm.

Moore is an enigma, he teases us with some special stuff from time to time , so there is no doubt the talent is there, but we don't see it often enough.
For some unknown reason there appears to be a missing piece to the Moore puzzle.

Probably not relevant, but hasn't he got an older brother, who was a similar type player for the tiggers, but gave the game away at the ripe old age of about 24 because he lost interest in footy?

A personal view for me would be Ah Chee > Young > Moore. Young was great against North but I suspect Ah Chee is the better of the two. Would like to see both given the opportunity to nail down a spot. Moore isn't an automatic selection even though he's been useful, I just think Young has earned a decent run and have a really good feeling about Ah Chee. Think Kane is the only in.

Going to go out on a limb here.

Cornes in for Mitchell so he can tag S.Mitchell
Moore in for Wines - big bodied mid
Lobbe if fit for a sadly out of form Hoff - offering the team absolutely nothing ATM.

We are like seagulls waiting for a chip from Ken...Ken tries to justify his Mitchell selection..great job shutting him down???? He had 28 touches for the game, the highest I think....and most of them after half time...wonder what he would have done if he wasn't shut down??

He had 20 touches to half time & only the 7 after Mitch went on him, I can nit pick like anyone when it comes to Mitchell but last night wasn't one of his bad games & he looks to be improving.

Let's put his performance in perspective he replaced Neade who was in terrible form & at least contributed to our win, I think it was the first time this season we got the selections right.

The Hoff was involved in many of the transitions from defence to attack. Probably as many as any other player on the ground and he played his part be it with the ball, competing or just forcing a North player or two to go with him and thus create space somewhere else.

Mitchell
THE GOOD
- the amount of running he did end to end especially in the final quarter was phenomenal
- kicked winning goal
- reasonable defensive job second half

THE BAD
- too small against what is a very tall hawthorn team

I'd play him as the sub for some run halfway thru the 3rd quarter, he deserves it
