Can never tell if you really rate him or just want someone's tyres to pump up because Smith isn't playing.

I reckon he's a dime a dozen - small with poor skills. What's the point? At least Ashton had a good left boot and a neat party trick.
3rd top goalkicker for the year and provides good dash/defensive pressure.

Has to tidy up his field kicking, but could say the same of Ballantyne in a similar role.

I think smith is a nuffy, however Simpson said he wants to get a look at a few different blokes before the end of the season - as such it makes sense he tries out various blokes.

I'm just glad Lycett is named first ruck, really want to keep him

Ballantyne is a far more talented (and spirited) player. I agree he has snagged a few goals but we could easily recruit a skillful opportunist/crumber who also had good skills and dash if we actually took it seriously.

Murray Newman?
No, like Jay Kennedy Harris and Charlie Cameron and others.

Newman was more a midfielder, as was Karpany. We haven't had a serious go at recruiting a good small forward for a real long time. Dick (long shot), Hill (plays tall), Bennell (too risky with the ACL), Weedon (HHF), Hams (undersize mid), Dalziell (irrelevant, but worth bringing up).

I don't see any reason why Newman can't develop into a Didak/Johnson type who rotates between the middle and the forward line.

Otherwise, does it seem we've put all our eggs in the Karpany basket? Though he was a mid too, as SC said.

We should prioritise it more.

Simpson said he failed some of the non-negotiables that are required of players and has been dropped ! Don't know what they are might not even be game day stuff.

On the news they were talking about the ruck situation and Simpson was saying that a lot of water has to pass under the bridge with cox passing the mantle , sounds like cox doesn't want to retire ! Makes it complicated when he is the ruck coach .

Simpson also said nic would be rested more and maybe even finish the season early if it avoided post season surgury. Hope it's not his groin again

Nic nats achillies has been bothering him and not the groin is what i hear.

He wouldn't be playing at all if that were the case.

Surely.

The Achilles has apparently been bothering him all year and has been mentioned in various press reports including in Simpsons presser this week ..

Some sort of tendinitis doesn't require him to be left out ... Just causes pain and might impact on training ... Flaring up at different stages ...

Pretty bold changes, unlikely that Woosha would've done the same. Really hope that Sheed and Tunners both start.

Still a bit too much hard working WAFL level players getting games, but yes, happy to see some changes.

Surprised Tunners got a recall, he is a little too inconsistent and goes missing in games but then again Hill is one lazy campaigner and Cripps has been bad of late, so I guess he has earned his spot.

If Smith gets named I hope he can bring his run and carry to the game. Still a little confused why Woosh ever thought this guy was a backman? He is natural HFF and can play on the wing.

Very happy with the changes.

Happy to see that Simmo is starting to shake things up. I just really want Smith to have a good game.

Nic will be rested from some remaining games. WC will then play the wait and see game with Nic in the off-season, in the hope of avoiding surgery. WC will, in 6 months from now when it's mid-late January, put Nic into surgery. His 2015 will be all but ruined.

If this happens, my head will explode.

Carter or Bennell for Brennan would have been nice. Still, good changes.

Sheed needs to play a full game. My guess is that Tunbridge will be sub.

Hope that Lycett and Sinclair star, and Sheed does ok and gets 20+ and stays in the team for the rest of the year.

Agreed except hopefully tunner isn't the sub.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought sheppard didn't fly but is named to play?
