I think teams like st Kilda have proven that top 8 teams are only miles ahead of bottom 8 times as far as consistency is concerned. Most bottom 8 teams on their day can knock over a top 8 team. Additionally the gap between the bottom half of the 8 and the top half has never been narrower so I don't think teams will need any more wins then last year to make top 4, think percentage is going to play a huge part this year

Yeah, fair enough. One of the few things we have going for us is %. If we can make it to 16 wins we could finish as high as 2nd. Unfortunately consistency is something we don't have at the moment. Still, you can't give up while there is still a mathematical chance. Our destiny is still in our own hands... but mess it up and we can't rely on other teams falling over due to the sheer number of teams in the mix this year.

Going to have to rely on our mids to put pressure on North as they get the ball rammed down their throats by Goldstein and be more efficient going forward. Lycett will create a contest... but he can't ruck as long as Goldstein. So this is what it feels like for other teams coming up against Lycett and Nic Nat!

Might have been happy for him to have a go as a pressure forward if they weren't going to play McGinnity but luckily they finally gave him a shot.

I can't remember him being named by the coaches in the best players and I think the fact that they dropped him to the WAFL reserves shows where he stands at the moment.

See i dont understand why he seems to get rated harsher than others. When ive seen him play he's been decent with his ball use, has got a good number of possessions when played in the guts, has size and pace and regularly impacts the scoreboard. Its almost as is he is being held to a standard that others arent. I'm not sure what the coaches are waiting for him to do to get a chance?

Thanks Biggie. The only problem with that is it doesnt show us which games he played as a mid only and when he was playing as FF. My understanding was the higher possession ones were when they left him in the middle for most of the game. It also doesnt show his inside 50 count. Do we have that anywhere?

His stats from the last 3 weeks aren't great just mediocre. He's probably only had 4 games that were above average. I think people are overrating him a bit here. It's a case of the Koby Stevens.

Everyone loves Nelson because he is the only player currently playing in the seniors that looks like he will improve our midfield. Shuey, Gaff, Priddis...not many can see that lot taking their games to another level.

I think everyone has acknowledged that a fit Sheed would have been a massive boon in the middle.

Most seem to understand he needs to work into the team via EP and have appropriate expectations on his return.

Much like Redden we will be wanting Shred to have a clean run at it leading into next year to see his best.

I'm no fan, but any Facebook idiot can see he's soft as butter and down on confidence, he doesn't deserve the vitriol which still automatically gets thrown at him each week.

He showed some good signs and regularly was burned by teammates when he could have received the ball on thursday. He provides something we don't have, whether Simmo can extract the best out of him or not is the real challenge. One he has failed at thus far.

Lecras also ignored him on one occasion when he was all by himself on the 50, lecras turned away and kicked to a crowd. From memory Jack did mark it but missed a shot from outside 50. Jetta could have run to 40 and had a shot. Not criticizing Lecras just pointing out another occasion he made good position and wasn't used

Definitely jettas best game so far.I hope Lycett gets stuck into Goldstein.Goldstein is a good player but gets a bit sahaky when the physical pressure goes on.if Brown plays on ball again theres no point in trying to outruck Goldy,just get stuck into him.Lycett needs to lead us to war,and dont worry mate Browny will be right there;he makes his share of cockups but you cant doubt his toughness,and now is when we need it.With no NN North will smell blood.
