Agree with most of this including the 25. One difference - can't see/would not like Nelson to get a game before Jetta. For all Nelson's enthusiasm, youth, promise etc. he does not have the class and game changing possibilities of Jetta at this point in his career. I think Simpson is committed to Jetta and he needs continuity to come good. Nelson's game against Essendon was at best serviceable IMO.Having an updated crack at tonight's team:
B: Barrass, Schofield, Sheppard
HB: Hurn, McGovern, Butler
C: Gaff, Priddis, Masten
HF: Cripps, Darling, Hutchings
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Brown
R: Lycett, Shuey, Yeo
I (from): Wellingham, Hill, McGinnity, Nelson, Redden, Jetta, Giles
In: Hill, Redden, Giles
Giles to be named to keep NM guessing. Last three to miss out. Giles and Redden to play for EP, Jetta to be held over and miss out on a chance to get some confidence back![]()
Hill for Jetta is the interesting one here... I reckon youll be proven right in about 5 hours.Having an updated crack at tonight's team:

I reckon if you really want Nelson out, the only logical replacements are either Redden or Duggan. Which still leaves somebody needing to come out for Hill, can only be jetta, cripps, ginnity or Lecca.... would love to be a fly on the wall at MC!Agree with most of this including the 25. The other question mark is Barrass and MacKenzie. Barrass is playing well, looks like a 200 gamer, is not a liability despite his inexperience, but will the MC go with MacKenzie's experience in such a crucial game? Seems a real
50-50 to me, interesting to see which they go.
YesThey'll get smashed.
It'll be the drive off the backbone that gets the job done...if at all.
Not tipping us here, mids are far too shizen for my liking.
Sounds more like a Guildford boy. Haven't seen that much enthusiasm for Aquinas old boys Fyfe and Yeo.Heh, Fivey and his privileged upbringing.
Probably went to Aquinas before he became a lawyer. Where else do you learn such complex grammatical siphers, like how to spell surprise?
Tell me that.
I think the thing that most people miss is that Jetta hasn't been good for a couple of years. His impact on games for Sydney was minimal and although I didn't see all of Sydney's games, the ones I did see involved Jetta in a similar role to the one he is currently playing for West Coast. ie: Cruising around picking up the easy kicks and showing his skills by good disposal. So while I agree that it would be great for the Eagles if he could get the ball more often and even feed off Priddis's inside work, it is unlikely to happen. There are no second efforts from him, he doesn't tackle a couple of people in a row, he doesn't give off the ball and then run past for a clear possession and he certainly doesn't run on to provide back up or a shepherd for a teammate. In addition the number of possessions are insufficient to impact. People now comment if he plays "a better game" rather than comment on a good game.I'm not a fan of dropping Jetta personally, but I think if Hill comes in for Nelson we won't have enough soldiers on the inside in what's likely to be a really tough contested battle. Jetta out gives a bit better team balance, though it's not in his/the club's interests longer term.
LeCras would be the other guy in the gun but I can't see it happening. McGinnity is another possibility but it'd be a big call to drop him after four goals.
We go through this topic in detail on this week's podcast, just FYI [/gratuitousplug]
Didn't do a lot! Is your opinion based on stats or were you at the game? I was at the game and after a quiet 1st quarter, he was busy and very effective. One of the few players that showed any physicality which is an ingredient we are really lacking in.Don't see how Nelson retains his position on the basis of last week's game. Didn't do a lot of anything. Not yet ready for a big game IMO.

I don't think this is the week to go in with only 1 ruckman. Brown will stay in the team IMO.Hope we drop brown for reddo/Duggan.
Don't think we need to waste a spot on my extra ruck given that extra will lose in there anyway.
Hill deserves to come back in but who we drop I'm not sure. Given its going to to be a contested batlle probbaly jetta. I'm sure McGinnity will be shit again this week but you can't drop a player off that. I also think hutch continues to hold his sport cause he is hitting the scoreboard.
What I would like to see:
In: Hill and Redden
Out: LeCras and Jetta (if wet)
Reason
Jetta in the wet is probably not happening - heavy conditions do not suit him especially if down on confidence in what will be a physical game. Redden a better option.

It'll be Redden and Duggan I imagine. So we have to pick 4 from Brown, Redden, Wellingham, Duggan, Jetta, Nelson and McGinnity with Wellingham probably being the only certainty.
Id also be surprised if Ginners is dropped, so in my mind it's 2 from Brown, Redden, Jetta, Duggan and Nelson
