Jesus, Waterman has been letting me down too much this season. bit disappointed.

I'd now prefer Matty Allen to come in to play that HFF role for us. Get him in the guts as a rotation and then be a plus one at stoppages.

Barrass won’t get suspended. They take into account did he initiate it, did he make an action that was unreasonable, did he have other options? No in all cases. The outcome - concussion - is irrelevant in this case.

Who knows what the MRO will come up with.

Im guessing a suspesion based on a bump that resulted in a Concussion.

I feel bad for Waterman. He absolutely deserved his spot in the side based on his good form.
Problem is, the role he plays in the WAFL is completely different to the one he is given in the A Team. It's not really fair, but on the other hand we can't really give him that same role either. Last year he seemed pretty effective as a hard running lead up guy, and I figured with another off-season to further build his tank he could possibly get more traction in that role. But he's not finding enough of the ball, and the defensive side of his game isn't great right now either.
So right now I just think we've got too many other good options ahead of him.

Is there a chance he may seek a trade for more opportunity?

Allens clearly overtaken him, and brander likely to replace kennedy in the near future

Viney played out the quarter and even kicked a goal after a nest side step late in the quarter. If the medical report comes back saying he was concussed from the Barrass hit, questions need to be raised as to why he played out the quarter without going through any concussion testing

As to the hit himself, Viney initiated contact and Barrass did no more than to brace himself by lowering his centre of gravity, keeping his feet grounded and his elbow tucked in save for a reflex action to lift his elbow after contact

There’s no way he should be suspended for that

Feels like every time we’ve had someone suspended for concussion the player has gone back onto the ground after the incident. So I doubt that helps us.

Wce seemed to play a strange brand of footy lacking any real system for most of the game..
I didn’t even see what role Waterman was playing but I agree he should get another chance back at Optus v Nth Melb ..

We maintained momentum in the second until Jetta's miskick to Harmes in D50, then we let them into the game.

Nelson tagging Oliver in Q4 was a good move. I think he should be playing Hutching's normal role. Has better skills - although his chip kick in D50 was pretty rubbish.

I fully support ER's views on Waterman

Bloke is getting such a bad rap on here these days like he's a number 1 pick who's turned out to be a spud. Like he promised the world.


- He was taken LAST in the 2016 draft, pick 77

- He's a third year young forward. People are forgetting this. Writing him off like this is all you are ever going to get from him and he's toilet.

- He DOMINATES the WAFL level and has earned his position in the side more than just about anyone. He's not getting gifted games.


He's proven he's too good for that level. I put the onus on our coaching staff to find him a role he can do properly in the senior side because it's not the same role he kills in for the Beagles. If Simpson comes out and drops him this week he'll have accomplished next to nothing for bringing him back in.

Let him adjust to AFL footy. Find him a role. Tweak the team. Give him time.

Probably doesn't help either when our team goes to Kennedy 90% of the time and Darling for the other 10% when kicking inside 50.


I feel he gets judged more harshly on here compared to golden boy Allen. Despite Oscar having his own form dips throughout the year

"Delayed Concussion". That covers everything from a negligent perspective.

I don't mind Waterman there just isn't a role for him at the moment. He was shoe horned in yesterday because of his WAFL form but OAllen is everybit the better player form drop off or not. He was probably a better direct replacement for Lecras but OAllen's footy deserves the games at the moment IMO.

Good to see Watson perform well. Was probably ahead of both Nelson and Cole so should hold his spot.
Their spot on the other hand......... providing Hurn is good to go he will replace one of them.
If Barrass doesn't get MRO'd then I would say only the one change for Hurn.

How far away is Cripps? Will come straight back in when fit.

Cole has been so bad this year and i would leave him in the WAFL for the rest of the year and let Watson get a gig for the rest of the year. When Duggan is back he can take Nelson's spot. We are lucky we have depth in that spot.

If one of Barrass or Gov is out then bring in Schoey.
