The only way Weightman doesn't come back is if he has a setback or a fresh injury. Not sure Weightman comes back.
If he does would be late
We don't even have a timeline on it.The only way Weightman doesn't come back is if he has a setback or a fresh injury.
We can't afford to drop any more games needlessly. Play our strongest lineup.Reckon they should give this developing midfield combo a crack at Port without Treloar.
The warmer climes of the Territory seems like it would be more conducive to an aging body's return.
Jongys return in that freezing Canberra game in 21 still haunts me. What a medium to long term disaster that game was.

Yep, but this is Weightman we're talking about. If it was season, wouldn't it be evidenced by an update from 'indefinite' to 'season'.We don't even have a timeline on it.
It went from indefinite to 3 months a while back (so return just after the bye) then back to indefinite.
It seems a fairly long time away if at all
What's going around at the moment might be our strongest line up (midfield) if you factor in continuity. We can't afford to drop any more games needlessly. Play our strongest lineup.
True, but hard to argue that Treloar is not a member of our strongest team when fit given 2024 AA. May need to restrict his minutes and / or expect a slightly lesser performance first up (a bit like JJ against the Bears) given he has missed so much footy. What's going around at the moment might be our strongest line up (midfield) if you factor in continuity.
The demolitions of opposing midfields in the last 2 outings has been so complete I'd be very reluctant to toy with it unless forced to do so through injury to or management of those who've played to date.
We don't need to rest anyone for the sake of it. The bye isn't even that far awayLibba is due a break - will be interesting to see which game they choose over the next block ....
The bye is only four weeks away, you're right, but in that four weeks we go Ballarat > Darwin > Docklands > Geelong. If Treloar is ready to go, then it wouldn't shock me to see Libba managed, more than likely in Darwin though. We don't need to rest anyone for the sake of it. The bye isn't even that far away
Belo alluded to resting Libba recently, which I full support - we need him fit and firing on all cylinders August & September. We don't need to rest anyone for the sake of it. The bye isn't even that far away

I edited my post to put a bit more weight on the conditions factor. Cold conditions and soft tissue injury history.True, but hard to argue that Treloar is not a member of our strongest team when fit given 2024 AA. There is also the argument that it could be as much system as personnel that is the key to recent domination.
So I don't think we should choose to play Treloar or not based on venue / weather.
18 degrees is bad conditions?I edited my post to put a bit more weight on the conditions factor. Cold conditions and soft tissue injury history.
My gut feel is there is too much to lose if they encounter bad conditions and play Treloar.
On exposed team form, Treloar may only be the difference between a 6 goal win and a 7 goal win. I'd wait one more week ....
If that's what it is then no it's not, in which case Hynes probably gets a rest.18 degrees is bad conditions?

pretty consistent for most of the week before getting up to late teens Friday. If that's what it is then no it's not, in which case Hynes probably gets a rest.
But, how confident can you be in a Victorian weather forecast 6 days out?
Put it this way, if it's cold and sh1t on the day, I'd play the general soreness card and pull him out.
If it helps I've also given myself an upper cut for even mentioning it.
Agree wholeheartedly, he's shown more in that role than any others on the list. He's tenacious and makes good decisions. Keep him in.Have to keep playing Dolan imo.

No issue with keeping him in, but theres also benefit of him going back to the seconds and picking up 15-20 touches and hitting the scoreboardHave to keep playing Dolan imo.
