With the footy he's missed Medhurst needs more game time not less .

He isn't that far away from a big game IMO and has been getting the footy just not converting as well as we'd like.

You are correct Medders needs game time and maybe a run on the ball. It shows when they do not have a pre season they struggle but Medders looks like its close

No point resting him leave him out there and get him involved:thumbsu:

The changes I'd like to see but won't happen are.

In: N.Brown & Clarke
Out: L.Brown & Toovey

As of the past 3 weeks Leigh Brown has played as a Key backmen rather than the second ruckman. For the good of the team and for the sake of Nathan Brown's development he needs to come in to replace the anvil. Where do i start with Alan Toovey... He tries so hard but is so incapable of anything approaching good football. Even if he holds his opponent to one or two goals a game he will give up two himself through turnovers! He will be a liability come finals time and anyone who wishes to defend him, think about this. Can you think of one game this year where Toovey was in our 10 best players?.. Because i can't. This is all bearing in mind that he is an immensely better player this year when compared to last year... Also if Marty isnt playing well in defence the move of Dale Thomas back there could help his game. Atm he is being stifled in the forward line and a move down back would release him like it did with Dane Swan last week.

No better team to re-find form with than Richmond, but if McCaffer strings a few good ones together, Medders would want to start getting a bit of it.

A run through the middle is definitely worth a chance - worked for Franklin.

whats the genereal conception about resting beams? Other clubs havnt done it with guys like hill and rich, why would we be resting someone whos in our top 10 players imo since returning, and should finish top 3 in the rising star?

I don't think we should rest Beamer at all. He is continuing to show form and is always improving. Taking him off would be detremental to his current form in the team, I reckon.

fully agree with you , i could understand if resting him would help his football but the way hes going averaging 20+ and kicking goals the last 8 weeks hes been one of most important players imo, and he is a better and has more upside then the fringe players waiting to come in imo.

I saw a similiar comment on the Essendon board prior to that game!!

I hope it doesn;t come back to haunt you!!

we are a better and more battle hardened unit then essendon is

The swans the team that monstered you last week, we monstered in sydney about 2 months ago. We are in better form now

Probably..but it not beyond the realms that you could lose and comments can come back to haunt you!!

i think reason behind wanting to rest beams is that:

prior to his last break, he was showing signs of fatigue and as a result, his form dropped off a bit....

therefore, whilst he's still going okay now... we don't want a similar drop in form (due to fatigue) to co-incide with September

Rest Dale. I watched the replay of the game today, and he doesn't seem to be operating at the same rate as most other players. Bring in Wellingham or Clarke.

He was one of our best players two weeks back against Brisbane...

Saturday night was just an off night, nothing to be concerned over.

I watched the replay of the Crows game too Snag, and you're right. Daisy was either sick, unfit or tired. He hung back from almost every contest and didn't contest marks etc as if he was scared of the footy. I've been a fan of his but his game againt Adelaide was troubling.

That's just what I mean. Is he injured, maybe?
