This gets harder every week, especially when they bring new players in who play well.

My thoughts are:

Gaz for Pris
Dash for DJ
Ling for ...hmm this gets harder, I reckon Lonergan might be struggling to retain his spot, might be a bit of a risk to play a shorter forward line but Gamble can play reasonably tall, Milburn has pinch hit forward and I'd be interested to see how Harry goes up forward too.
Wojcinski for ...big call but he might find himself in the magoos. While his form is good, it does not demand selection. He would be vying with Varcoe and maybe Harry for a spot and I have a feeling they may keep their spots. Woj may get a reprieve if Chappy doesn't come up from his hammy twinge. I know Rooke and Hunt were down last night but prior form will see them keep their spots.

Thoughts?

it really depends if gazza and linga ready to come back in
if lonners loses he's spot it would be nice to see harry up forward
say in are gazza
ling
milburn
outs
prismall
maybe
lonners
d jonhson (hard call)
possibly hunt

No way Hunt. Having a great year and a lock in the 22.

This is difficult, would suggest:

Ling - Chappy (inj.)
Milburn - DJ (omit)

Possibles:

Rooke - Wojak. I know Rooke is a good player for us, however the last couple of weeks has been average, I shake my head when he tries too hard and is caught out. Was terrible in the first 3 quarters on Friday, had an ok last qtr but still turned it over in front of goal and cost us the lead.

Lonners - ? He has been great in the last couple of weeks, but didn't look like gathering the pill on Friday, was like it was his kryptonite. It seems as though the pressure is off with Hawkins out for a while, so he's stepped off the go button.

Bartel - Ablett. If Jnr is healthy, bring him back for Bartel. The news that Bartel may have some fractures in his back, as stated on Ch 7 is not good news heading into the finals series. Does anyone have any news that this is real or not?

It is going to be tough for the selection panel.

In:Ablett,Ling,Milburn
Out:Prismall,D.Johnson,Chapman(inj)
Although Prissa or DJ dont deserve to be dropped its hard to find others to drop. I think Wojak will play VFL this week or just have another week off to make sure his achilles is 100% right to go.

Without knowing who will be fit enough to come in (possibly no one apart from Milburn) this is my order for 'to come out':

Chapman (inj)
Prismall
Hunt
DJ

Don't mind if Varcoe plays or he doesn't right now either. Not really doing that much however at the same time I am happy for him to be given a sustained crack at it. Rooke battled this week but I would hope we have learned our lesson with dropping him (never do it). I would really like to see DJ retained.

I'm trying to not be argumentative, however, most seem to not give that same lattitude to Prismall, yet we can give it to Varcoe who's only skill at the moment appears to be tackling.

I agree that Varcoe is good for the forward line when going, but has been clearly shown up in the last two or three weeks.

Nah mate that's fine and a good argument. Like I said I can understand dropping him and retaining him. Prismall certainly has less trouble getting involved, but on the other hand (the one the match committee appear to be looking lately) he's a completely different type of player. Tough one.

He did a good job tagging Hodge out of the game

IN : Jr,Ling,Dasher,Wojcinski
OUT : Chappy [inj],Prismall,DJ,Varcoe

Although I wouldn't be suprised if Wojcinski returned via the magoos and Varcoe kept his spot

Agree it will be tough. I think that Kelly should rotate to the HFF (Chappy's spot), and Pris take Kelly's spot. The 'in' for Chappy will be Ling. DJ will unfortunately step back out for Milburn.

If Wojak is back, probably look at Rooke. I don't think Rooke is up to it at the moment. He is great for us when going, but turned it over way too many times on Friday.

Lastly, if Ablett is back then Pris will be out.

I'm unsure about Bartel, they said on Friday night that he has fractures in his back. Surely he wouldn't have played otherwise?

I think Hodge's own foot skills tagged himself out of the game. Clanger city.

Rooke was terrible once he got the ball. He may have tagged ok, but still turned it over too much, the comment that he had a great last quarter obviously didn't count his direct turnover in front of goal that cost us the lead.

I'm all for Rooke when he is in form, he isn't at the moment.

Meh. One bad game. Scarlo was not exactly great with it either last week, it can happen to the best of them. Was a good enough tag on Coons the weak before and serviceable before then. I hear his team mates have pretty much demanded his inclusion every week regardless of how good his individual form looks. He won't go out again unless injured. Genuine utility.

I agree, to some extent, however if his form costs a loss is that something that the coaching staff would take into consideration, i.e. Rooke keeping his spot?

It is interesting, though I can see why. He is not only a utility, but just an absolute terrier when he doesn't have the ball. I just like it when he tries to keep it simple, when he tries to do too much he often turns the ball over or is caught holding it.

Yep. Most valuable when he plays to his limitations like our other great tagger Ling.

Gamble is the second tall and Lonergan has looked redundant the last two matches with Gamble back in.

In: Ling, Milburn, Ablett/Wojac
Out: Prismall, DJ, Chapman
Gamble is not a genuine tall and will get towelled by a genuine second key defender.
