Mr Port Adelaide, another adelaide ******* that is causing a stir!!!! We are black and white, end of story! Who cares what Port Adelaide do, you want to change your jumper? No one is stopping you! You have been in the comp since 1997, what would you know? You are your teal jumpers, what a joke! What history are you on about? SAFL or whatever you call it? This is AFL buddy!!!!!!! Seem to be a little confused??

You also don't seem to realise that we are the Port Adelaide Football Club, which was established and registered in 1870. We dominated the SANFL for over a hundred years and we then transferred our license to the AFL in 1996 and starting competing in the AFL in 1997.

We are the true black and white, end of story!

Oh, and what happened to that promise your club made that if we beat you so many times in a row, we would be able to wear our prison bar jumper permantely and have the Magpies name permantely. We beat ya more than the required times in a row, and yet your joke of a club didn't make good on that promise.

I supposed with a president like Eddie McGuire all ya gonna do is make money instead of winning premierships.

Now if Port had the choice of making money or winning premierships, we'd choose winning premierships every day of the week and twice on Sunday's.

No one cares idiot about what happened in 18 ********en 70.

You only joined the big boys in the big boys comp in 97.

What happened before that is irrelevant.

If what we did before we joined the AFL is irrelevant, then so is what you did in the VFL.

You are a ********en loser.

36 flags in a third rate comp, who cares.

Im a ********in loser? I'm not the Collingwood supporter, you are. Now who's the ********in loser.

And the SANFL is not a 3rd rate comp. The SANFL is a hell of alot better than that crappy VFL bullcrap.

Ahh no its not because you joined our comp we didnt join your third rate crappy comp ok.

You still have all those flags but they were won by port adelaide which still operates in the SANFL.

Your club came into existance in 1997 and has won a solitary flag, no more.

There are 2 different clubs we are talking about Port adelaide and port power.

port power has no history pre 97.

There is no such club as Port Power. We are the Port Adelaide Football Club, established and registed in 1870. We transferred our license to the AFL and began competing in the AFL in 1997. To keep the Magpies in the SANFL, the Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club was created. The PAFC and the PAMFC share the records held between 1870 to 1996.

So we have 34 SANFL premierships and a AFL premiership. That's more than Collingwood will ever get to smell.

Yes there is a club called power they are based in port adelaide and play in the AFL and were established in 1997.

There is another club called port adelaide that is based in alberton and was established in 1870 and won 30 odd flags in a third rate competition.

Two different clubs.

Like hell. If the AFL was run by Collingwood, then you'd be the only side in the comp.

We are the only side that anyone really talks about so yeah it feels like we are the only side in the AFL at times.

There are other sides and on occasion we help them out with money to keep them alive, but we recieve no thanks for this.

16 teams but its all run from eddies office.

What? The CEO of Channel 9's office? Just remember, Eddie McGuire won't be your club president for much longer.

The Port Adelaide Football Club, nicknamed the Power, is an Australian Rules Football club based in Adelaide, South Australia. From its foundation in 1870 to 1996, Port Adelaide competed in the SANFL, but in 1997, Port Adelaide moved into the national AFL. During its time in the SANFL, Port Adelaide earned the reputation as the greatest football club in the world by winning a world record 34 senior premierships. In its short stint in the AFL, the club has already won one premiership.

Yes this proves there are 2 different clubs and you have been in our comp for 2 minutes.

Big deal.

Who wrote that ********, porthos.

This doesnt prove anything.

Eddie will be on the board when he steps down as president and continue to do an outstanding job for the real magpies.

Read and learn about Port Adelaidebefore you start ridiculing us. Collingwood will never live up to Port. We are the real magpies and always will be.

What has Collingwood ever done. You are saying that the SANFL is a 3rd rate comp. Well I would ask how many flags you have won in the last 50 odd years. Try 2! We've won around 20. Back before 1958 when you won 12 of your 14 premierships, the SANFL was just as good as the VFL. Obviously you went down ******** creek from there losing grand finals every second year. The 'AFL' only began in 1990, so if we are talking AFL premiership like you accuse us of having 1 AFL premiership then you have 1, same as us.

And if you argue that we are only 10 years old and began in 1997 (which is a load of bull********), then we're still better than you. Since we've entered we have a better head to head record against your, have won a premiership, have finished higher on ladder almost every year, won more minor premierships. What more do you want me to say.

And yet still you preclaim to have a better history than us. You can't win no matter what way you look at it!

"The Port Adelaide Football Club is arguably the most successful senior football club, not only in South Australia but Australia-wide.

Since playing its first game in 1870, the club has gone on to win an Australian record of 36 SANFL premierships including six in a row and achieve the honour of being Champions of Australia on four occasions.

It all began back during April 1870 when Messrs. John A. Rann, George Ireland and R.W.J. Leicester met on the North Parade at Port Adelaide and discussed the formation of a sporting social club for the young men of the district, hence the formation of the Port Adelaide Football Club.

First officials of the newly formed club were President - Capt. John Hart (snr.), Chairman - W.E.Mattinson, Secretary - R.W.J.Leicester, Treasurer - G.Ireland, Committee - J.A.Rann, R.Carr, L.Bridgland and J.Wald (Captain).

An extract from the first meeting held on 13th May 1870 read: 'Members are informed that the opening practice will commence at 3 p.m. on Saturday 14th inst. - R.W.J.Leicester, Hon. Sec.'

The club played its first game on 24th May 1870 against a team known as the Young Australians which resulted in a nil all draw on a ground that was part of the Glanville Hall Estate owned by Captain John Hart (snr.). The ground was referred to as 'Bucks Flat'.

From that first game until 1877 Port Adelaide wore blue and white colours, which they changed to a rose pink cap, guernsey and socks with white knickerbockers in 1878.

A further change was made in 1883 when we wore a magenta and blue cap, guernsey and hooped socks with navy blue knickerbockers. But in 1902 someone must have come to their senses, as we changed to the famous black and white colours.

There was no organised competition for the club to play in until 1877 when it was a founding member of the South Australian Football Association. It quickly established itself as a force in that competition and went on to win its first flag in 1884. The club continued to prove its strength and in 1914 created history by going the whole season undefeated and in the process winning the honour of being Champions of Australia.

After capturing three flags in the 1930's, with superb talent such as dual Magarey Medallist Bob Quinn, the club would embark on its next great era with the arrival of Fos Williams to Alberton in 1950. He led the club to 9 premierships overall and in many ways propelled the Club to where it is today. Port Adelaide won seven premierships in the 50's including a SANFL record six in a row.

The tradition continued to grow. Through great players such as four-time Magarey Medallist Russell Ebert, Port continued its SANFL supremacy arguably peaking just before entering the AFL. The club, coached by John Cahill, won seven out of nine flags between 1988 and 1996, making it the obvious choice for the second SANFL licence to join the AFL, which we were awarded in 1994.

In 1997 the Port Adelaide Football Club joined the Australian Football League, in many ways the crowning achievement of more than 100 years of unrivalled success. It maintained its presence in the SANFL through the formation of the Port Adelaide Magpies Football Club, who share the records and history from 1870 to 1996.

Steven Williams was appointed coach of the Port Adelaide Magpies when John Cahill stepped aside mid-season in 1996 to concentrate solely on his job as inaugural coach of the AFL affiliate. In keeping with tradition, Steven guided the club to three more premierships before announcing his resignation at the end of the 2003 season. In 2003 Brett Ebert created history by becoming the first son of a Magarey Medallist to also claim the coveted award.

The 2005 Season sees Club greats John Cahill and Tim Ginever return as Senior Coach and Assistant Coach (respectively) with Tony Brown continuing his role as Club Captain."

Troy Wingate - I have only read your first post on here regarding how the Power have a richer history.

Wrong mate...you are not the Port Adelaide Football Club in the AFL, the Port Adelaide Football Club still stands in the SANFL. The Port Power club was formed in 1996, and therefore, is entering it's 10th year in the competition, and been around for 11 years.

You even said the word teal, which to my knowledge, has no association with the real Port Adelaide FC, which is based in the SANFL, not the AFL.

Your Port Adelaide Magpies (SANFL) may have a richer history and heritage than the Collingwood Magpies (VFA, VFL, AFL), and I am not debating that, but you aren't the Port Adelaide Magpies when talking about AFL. You are Port Power, originated from that rich club that still is playing in the SANFL. Like Collingwood, who doesn't exist in the VFA or VFL anymore, they changed to the biggest league.

When I'm looking at the heritage of the Port Adelaide Football Club (AFL), it will say in my history...formed - 1996.

Believe what you want to believe, but we know our club a hell of alot better than you people do. If you want to believe that we are Port Power, go ahead, believe that, but your dead wrong.

If Port Power are Port Adelaide, then what the ******** is Port Adelaide? Did Port Adelaide (SANFL) form in 1997? No it is the same club it was in 1870!!! Port Adelaide, the team that has a nickname Power instead of Magpies, and has Teal added to Black and White is the original...then stop thinking you are the real Magpies aswell.
