Okay folks.

Was thinking of having an open forum for posters to discuss the way this board is operating, and seek feedback from we mods and each other without the threat of infraction or censorship. Brutal (mature) honesty is acceptable.

I want to keep it off the boards however as it tends to keep going and going and control is lost.

Semi-regular chat sessions are possible.

We will need an easy to use free chat service however, preferably were people do not have to register, and where we can create a private room.

Suggestions are welcome. Once we find that, we can decide on dates and times etc.

If there is no interest in this idea, then we will leave it. Just throwing it out there.

As a suggestion though ... none of this 'ODN, you are nothing but a nazi' etc etc. Articulate your problems with mods or other posters and we can give honest responses.

I haven't run this by the other mods as yet, but rest assured I will be there.

users dont need to, but can if they like.
its fairly easy to use, can be open all the time, and costs nothing.

The board seems in pretty good shape...the trolls are knocked on the head, the shit stirrers are kept in check, the pitifully stupid are tolerated, and the three remaining regular contributors maintain a high standard of football related discussion (you two know who you are).

Why don't we just set up a thread for this purpose, and make it accessible only to Carlton supporters?

Alternatively, we can use the Richard Pratt Board. That is only visible for Carlton posters, and doesn't get much traffic these days, so a thread could be started there for this.

This does seem like a lot of work for the purpose of getting feedback on how the board is being run - I'm not sure many, if any posters will be logging on to a separate chat site or platform just to air their views about how it is run. It just seems like it would be work for the sake of creating work - a thread for Carlton supporters only in which they can discuss this exact topic seems far more plausible IMO.

It has the potential to be a good idea, then again, it also has the potential to be terrible.

Maybe you could select a few posters and ask them for some feedback. Select a wide range in posting styles to get a broad range of concepts. Some people may want more external club banter, some may want us to crack down harder on "trolls"... Some may want Carlton "trolls" to be knocked on the head....

Then again, a open chat session could be a quick method to obtain this information.

Bee has a new job and some other things happening in her life, which also explains why she has not been able to post as much as she would like.

Absolutely no story to tell here. Bee stepped down herself, and we are sorry to see her go, and thank her for her service.

She actually offered to step down some time ago but we asked her to stay on and see if things became easier for her in time.
