Your all saying Stokes but i wouldnt mind him in my team.
Fact is goals win games and if he kicks them and produces wins then who cares how he gets them.

I've always thought cherry pickers are the ones that take the easy option and wait at the back rather than winning their own ball?

Stokes wins plenty of his own footy, sometimes when you work hard and can read the game you find yourself in the goal square on the end of some cheap ones.

I didn't suggest it was a negative attribute - it just struck me that he always seems to be there waiting for the dish off and gift goal.

It's great awareness if nothing else.

Mathew Richardsons goal all alone in the goal square this season against the Hawks was one of the most amazing efforts i have seen.

Richmond supporters will know what i mean.

Lloyd would be one of the best at losing his opponent and finding himself all alone in the goal square, especially considering the attention he gets.

Unless you see the lead up to the goal and what happens off the ball you have no way of knowing if it is a gift goal or not.

Matty Richardson kicked a goal all alone in the sqaure this season which would have looked like a gift on the TV but in actual fact it was a brilliant bit of play by him and probably the hardest i have ever seen a player work for a goal.

2nd quarter. Stenglein I think, tried to rush a behind but basically gave it to Didak.

Stokes
Lloyd
Milne
Didak two years ago was the master of getting on the end of them but now that he plays further up the ground not so much.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, I mean the goals have to be kicked.

Spot on Jabso. Despite Zeke naming them Cherry Pickers the named players are all contributors to their team. Consistently being able to break away from your man at the right moment and be alone in the forward line to kick a goal should be applauded for it's nouse rather than it's softness.

So you didnt see Stokes getting the ball at the half back line? He seldom cherry picks, and when he does its hard running that gets him there, unlike Milne and Lloyd who stand and wait there in the goal square.
