After 10 minutes of talking about poor old Collingwood, they mentioned that Gilligan, Malcolm and KT were all heading up to China to unveil something or other...
Well Port must be in the deal somehow .. looks like we all have to wait and see what it is :D
Come on Chairman Koch, spill the beans b it...I know you want to :D

I imagine Peter Goers wears a sleeping gown in a reclined position while he does his show.

He sounds more pissed than Robbo minus the speech impediment.

They said something about it on 3AW as well, total non-comprehension. My guess is that Caro grabbed the scoop unprepared, too early, and now everyone is leaping around in multi-directional confusion. Dwayno, get your act together.
Yep they had no clue what's happening. Managed to get in a joke about fried rice though

You mean spit the chips. It's all about potatoes.

Story in today's business section of the Oz today - page 20 - saying Chinese direct investment in Oz last year was $15.09 billion up 59.5% on 2014. They had a graphic saying where it went.
Real estate - $6.85b - 45%
Renewable energy $3b - 20%
Healthcare $2.55b - 17%
Mining $1.3b - 9%
Infrastructue $515m - 3%
Energy $500m - 3%
Agribusiness $375m - 3%
Whats the difference between agriculture and agribusiness ?

Andrew Hunter was impressive on 891
He was. So pleased he nominated Matthew Richardson as the innovator of the China Strategy (hope Kochie wasn't tuned in).

Yes that was a surprise. He is a quality person too, Richardson.

Whats the difference between agriculture and agribusiness ?

Agriculture - production of foodstuff such as crops, grains, sheep, cattle etc.

Agribusiness - the group of industries dealing with agricultural produce and services required in farming (fencing, tractors, livestock transport, feed etc.)

AFL.com.au run with:

McLachlan off to China for Australia Week

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-11/gillon-mclachlan-off-to-china-for-australia-week

Mentions Port in the article, but I would have thought Mclachlan wouldn't have even been in China if not for us - alluding to it by saying "the afls involvement has only come along in the last few weeks"

Yeah, pretty sure because of us.

"AFL.com.au understands the League's involvement in Australia Week festivities has come about only in recent weeks."

Dragged kicking and screaming?

Port Adelaide’s China announcement to go beyond football as Prime Minister, SA Premier and AFL chief join travel party

PORT Adelaide’s major announcement in China on Thursday is to go beyond Australian football and traditional commercial deals between AFL clubs and sponsors.

The Power will carry SA’s flag in new diplomatic, cultural, business and tourism ties with China — an arrangement Port Adelaide president David Koch says “has the potential to change our football club forever.”

The depth of Port Adelaide’s announcement in Shanghai — China’s largest city — and how far it goes beyond football is highlighted by the travel party leaving for China Wednesday. This includes AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. SA Premier Jay Weatherill is already in place after last week leading a 286-strong SA delegation to China.

Port Adelaide’s international plan — known as the “China Strategy” — has been more than two years in the making. The Power’s commitment to promoting Australian football in China has increased in the past fortnight with the launch on China Central Television of a weekly AFL highlights program and a live telecast of Friday’s Port Adelaide-Essendon game from Adelaide Oval.

This follows the Power sponsoring two AFL leagues in south-east China and Team China at last year’s AFL International Cup series in Melbourne.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas has labelled Thursday’s announcement in Shanghai as one of the most significant steps in the Power’s off-field rebuild since the club almost hit the wall in 2012.

Here is a bit more on that story..

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas has labelled Thursday’s announcement in Shanghai as one of the most significant steps in the Power’s off-field rebuild since the club almost hit the wall in 2012.
“For two years we have been building strong relationship in China,” he said. “Now we start the next part of our China Strategy — and Thursday will be big.”

Agriculture - production of foodstuff such as crops, grains, sheep, cattle etc.

Agribusiness - the group of industries dealing with agricultural produce and services required in farming (fencing, tractors, livestock transport, feed etc.)

Are we getting involved in the kind of "agribusiness" that Richard Roper of the Night Manager is involved in? #obscurereference

They wont be able to build on the parklands will they? The PPS, City council and media would throw a massive wobbly. Maybe they will buy up the Heaven site?
That would be the bomb if we had a venue at the old heaven sight.

So much nostalgia
