:eek:pssst don't tell anyone but under Kochie and Keith's administration they have been secretly hoarding away 'Infant formula' and storing in local locations.... under the Williams stand, wharf sheds and fort Glanville, it hasn't been easy.

Paddy and Gus had to take off a year doing stocktake, Charlie came in as the muscle to manoeuvre the booty, short time in he did his meniscus, Clurey broke his foot, Whitey tore his pec, Shulzy hurt his back and Hammer and Chad did their hammy.

Krak was trying to recruit some muscle and got a broken jaw for his trouble, things were looking grim, Lockhart Road stepped in and negotiated the Chinese man power, captain of the red army came over to asses the situation , he got stuck in straight away and heck me tore his ACL, relations between the PAFC and China remain good, not since the building of the wall has a task been so tough but fruitful for both parties.o_O

btw badbeats yourTimmyG avatar face and mannerism resembles Ollie ..minus the hair (maybe it's just me)

think I need a bex and a lie down

In all serious though, the Chinese government are announcing a partnership with TransAdelaide to deliver high-speed buses to Adelaide Oval.
If you go the Maglev self driven 500+km/hr trains you will have long express routes and the shorter many stop routes. Once the track infrastructure is built it will be easy to incorporate towns. But you will have to build service towns anyway because you need people continually maintaining the track and upgrading.

I dont think you want to live in Mt Gambier and travel to Adelaide or Melbourne every day for work. Tailen Bend type distance would be wiser.

I can just picture this thing pulling into Tailem Bend.

The more I think about it seems unlikely to involve key/well known SA infrastructure. Sole reason for my logic being Adelaide's too smaller town and if someone around the Port/Holden factory/1 Port Road got word about this something would have leaked out?

Not necessarily Scoop Rucci would have been all over it by now had there been a leak.

However Dittmar did raise it again last week on his show.

Just more the point in that the doing the due diligence for taking an interest in a pretty substantial piece of infrastructure by its nature involves a lot of people (particularly people on the ground in Adelaide).

Just by the nature of Adelaide it's hard to see something like a Chinese Firm/Government taking a massive interest in Holden Factory etc. without there being significantly more whispers/media guesses.

If this is as big as indicated by all keeping under wraps may be as impressive as whatever it ends up being!

isn't Tailem Bend going to be hosting some future featured event of the V8 super cars, I'd guess a whole new race track and facilities has to be built? ...bullet trains/out in the sticks race events/crows supporters being nice and making sense..what a wacky turn of events:p

Apologies if I have stole your thunder.

Been on twitter all day clicking refresh for [port adelaide china]

has been entertaining.

[south australia china] not too bad either.
Not at all. I'm relieved I got it on the thread early enough. Seems Caro got the tip, from AFL House I guess but not certain, an hour or so ago.

I come in peace again. I love cryptic clues so having a punt on what your announcement could be.

A few weeks ago I heard on BBC world that the Chinese Government is concerned about smog affecting its ability to train athletes. particularly affecting its Olympic program.

My guess is that you guys will have a joint venture with the Chinese government, Port and UniSA to have a new training facility built, at the city site around Port road rumoured a while ago.

  • You guys get a new training facility near the current City West site of Unisa. But keep The Port Club and Magpies play at Alberton. Plus invovlement in a globally elite sports science program.
  • Chinese Government have a training facility they can send elite Olympic athletes to without smog issues.
  • UniSA expand upon their work in the Sports science field. Have access to an elite facility near their City West Campus.
I've been told something eerily close to this post by someone who is generally spot on about these things.

Time will tell, not long now.

Interesting about modified AFL to be introduced into Chinese schools.

KT: "We've established a cultural exchange program with China so every Chinese student who participates in our modified program will be a member of the Port Adelaide Football Club through AusAID funding. In return, Port Adelaide will sponsor and run the program in Chinese Schools, with the best players gaining scholarships to come train at the elite sports facility at 1 Port Road."

Fagan: "That's not fair! What are we going to do?"

Koch: "Sorry, but since you used the same colours of the Tibetan flag to pretend that Adelaide was a state team, I guess it's really true that #godhatesfages and you can #suckmykoch."

Janus foreshadowed this, as well as solving Cryptic # 1 along with REH and Eighteenseventy. Well done all.

So far the remaining cryptics have not been affected and will be put up at noon tomorrow and Wednesday.

Think HK 7's.
Started 1976 at HKFC Stadium
1982 move to bigger HK Stadium and got live TV coverage around the world - Rugby mad countries anyway - becomes the defacto world rugby event
1987 First Rugby WC
1991 Second Rugby WC which finally overshadows HK 7's as biggest Rugby tournament in the world
1993 First Rugby 7's WC
2002 First start talking to IOC about Rugby returning to Olympics
2005 IRFB make an Olympic bid for either 15's or 7's but no women's included in submission
2006 - Re-lodge submission but for 7's and women's component
2009 - Win right to return to Olympics
2016 - August Rio men's and women's 7's at the Olympics and Rugby returns for first gold match event since 1908

That is the sort of structure and timeline that will go with developing the AFL 9's game as an alternative whilst there are no footy fields in China, mainly soccer pitches. If you don't know much about the AFL 9's game have a read at the 2015 AFL annual report page 90 to get an idea how the AFL use AFL 9's with kids which can be used in China on soccer pitches.

If Shanghai is going to be the home of the game in China then I can see the Shanghai 9's replicating what happened with the HK 7's. And I don't mean the Olympics, but developing the game and getting women and girls to play the game as well as men and boys.Just like the ICC is using T20 to get cricket into countries that aren't test playing nations or cricket crazy. Look at Hong Kong Cricket side, they made the T20 WC held last month in India. This will be the imputes to introduce cricket to China, T20, then One dayers and then first class cricket and maybe one day test cricket ... the reverse to what happened in the test playing nations.
