Chips on the side or under your Parma?

Does anyone have it with spaghetti in Australia?
Couple of people tried ordering that but they're on Manus Island now, and of no danger to the community.

Mate, we're talking Aussie colloquialisms and in this case a nickname. You take the first part of the word and tack on an 'ee' or an 'oh' at the end and Bob's your uncle, you got yourself a proper nickname.

Robertson becomes Robbo and not Robba
McLeod becomes Macca (I'll concede that one before anyone jumps down my throat, despite it not really helping either cause)
Anderson becomes Ando instead of Anda
Stewart becomes Stewy and not Stewa
Smith becomes Smithy
Green becomes Greeny (these two are probably the best examples of what I'm talking about)
Johnson becomes Johnno
Occhillupo becomes Occy
Parkinson becomes Parko
Parmigiana becomes ******* Parmi because Parmo sounds even more ridiculous than Parma

The point here is that you Melbournians may not necessarily be wrong, but neither is anyone else.

Exactly. Parma just sounds stupid. We're Australian for god sake. We chuck the 'y' on the end of things to abbreviate them.

Chips and gravy are awesome so I don't mind my chips being drenched in some other goodness.

I meant recent for me.

English chippies are so ****in good. My favourite thing was having my first pint of Kronenburg and already looking forward to my last can of Stella and some curry sauce, cheese, gravy, chips and some random fish you've never heard of. Man.
