Pretty spot on I would have thought.

"Development of players is one integral component to successful teams, as is closeness and a genuine care for each other. The main ingredients for building bonds are either hardship or success and time. Usually in the AFL system, hardship is caused by underperformance and followed by significant list turnover, preventing the ingredient of time to do its work.

However, Essendon's unique struggles, as well as the senior management and coach's impressive ability to stay galvanised, has meant that this group may have created a bond through the adversity they've faced that's hard to break."

There's some serious flaws in this article - he cites the saga as a reason for "losing" Monfries. Monfries was traded to port Adelaide before any of this saga began. Also fails to mention we would have won two premierships already if allowed to compete fairly between 2012-2016.
We would of won 4

I do have to agree with him re the likelihood that the adversity endured during saga has galvanised the players psychologically as a team. Could be really valuable during a deep finals run, less doubt etc. "We have been through stuff this hard before as a team".

Our players have the right attitude now, They're all desperate to succeed and are all on the same page, Watch how much communication there is now at all stoppages, I love it, We haven't been this vocal in years.

Even us supporters are closer than we've ever been. Long way to go but we all agree we are on the right path finally.

Yep that's one thing I noticed this year players are always talking to each other weather some one kicks a goal or does something for the team.
