How's he been going? Ofcourse we knew his value but one team just didn't want to pay market rate when they could hold us against the wall, right?

You sir have no idea. Have a look at ruckman trades throughout the comp. Most trades have been in-between 10-20's ie. Wood.
The fact we have 3 ruckman on our list is irrelevant to market value, age and output of Jacobs.

Market value is just whatever people are prepared to pay for them. You try and make a case by saying Collingwood gave Brisbane pick 14 for Wood and thinking that this should be the market value for all ruckman. How about Warnock being traded for picks 24, 56 and 72. Mumford being traded for pick 28 and he's better than all the other ruckman being mentioned.

Carlton were asking for a first rounder or a Talia. Of course you weren't going to get that. You got fair compensation

i would be happy for pick 25-35 for knights.

Last year I said Knights' value was about pick 15-25 and got shot down by many Crows supporters who thought he was worth more.

Right now, I think he is worth about a pick in the 20s.

His worth is probably more to Adelaide in the sense that he is seen as a vital part of their best team but his currency has hit a further low this year.

Classic bigfooty foolishness. Team X overpaid for someone, so team y should overpay as well.

Second round pick for Jacobs is comparable to the majority of other ruck trades, especially for an old school tap ruckman. Jacobs has only been okay this year, so the Crows hardly won that deal by much.

.

Why would we pay anymore than we had to? To be nice? I think not, this is serious business, not some fairy princess league where we try and over pay so that a club doesn't feel hard done by. Maybe your club should've made a fairer offer originally so that the middle ground was closer....

Or maybe you should've given him some more games instead of Hampson and co?

Had a blinder tonight, back to his form of a few years back.

Magnet. But his kicking was atrocious. Think he may have been tired after getting so much of it, and wasn't used to it. (its been a while!)

Like all other Crows forwards and the Crows in general, Knights thrived without Tippett hogging and wasting all of their forward entries. Unless Bickley is smarter than Craig, normal service will be refused when Tippett comes back.

Fair compensation for Jacobs was your GC Compo pick. You used it for Tambling (idiotic if you ask me) while we tried to play hard ball and get your first rounder. We settled for the second rounder when it became apparent that was our best deal.

I hope Carlton either refuse to deal with Adelaide ever again after the Jacobs trade or give them some of their medicine back by 2 fold this year!
All other teams should take note, if there is a side that doesn't trade fairly other than Collingwood it's Adelaide.

Carlton Fremantle Robert Warnock ...

You might have got the compo pick if your crew weren't being so pig-headed and wasting everyone's time. The only people you have to blame for not receiving it are Swan & Icke.

Nothing unusual about Knights' performance yesterday. Vintage 2008 form - won a heap of the ball, but then kicked poorly or made horrendous decisions.

His best year was 2009, when they relieved him of the pressure of having to make decisions by just having him belt it at goal from HF.
