i have almost had enough of the collingwood supports on here bagging Chris Tarrant. He has no easy jobs now the Rocca is out and that Josh only played one game this year. Chris is still only young, he has done prob a 80 % job for us this year. It's not his fault this year we havnt had Buckley,Woey, etc hitting him on the chest time and time again like years gone by. Blokes like Obree and Shaw are kicking the ball to him which is a little harder than out great skipper. How is the bloke gonna feel running out their every week when people continue to bag him week after week after week. People wanting to trade Chris is stupid besides 3 or 4 others blokes he would be someone the pies is going to hold on to for the next 10 or so years. Go easy pie fans lets get back to supporting our great club not bagging it

I agree with you sentiments but consider this.

What you might think of as someone 'bagging' a player, the person making the comment may think of it as having a valid opinion.

Just like you have done

I have never bagged Chris Talent.. NEVER!

i agree hilly
its a joke how we go through a rough couple of years and all the SO CALLED collingwood supporters come out with the knives and dig them in as much as they can.
If we were doing ok they would be on there going look at shaw, tarrant, williams what guns there killing it blah blah.
But coz we're not doing that well at all they stick the boot in instead of supporting then i think its a joke and ppl should really wake up to them selves

go pies lets rebuild this club once and for all and everyone get behind them no matter what for a change

mate i agree with u 100%

taz is doing all he can...he has about 12 thousand players on him a week now that pebs isnt there...

the supporters who bag taz are just jealous of the amount of slappers he picks up.....

Chris "OVERRATED" Tarrant is a hack. Doesn't even average 2 goals a game.Poor return from a full forward who has played in 2 grand finals
So he is ********
you need to get a life.

Tarrant >>>>Your whole forward line

Couldn't agree with you more. Taz does the best he can with the service he receives. Hard to kick too many goals when the ball isn't coming down there. Not helped by being constantly double and triple teamed by the opposition. People should get off his back and recognise that he's busting his gut in a side that is down on form.

Tarrant would be as big as Lloyd was 5 years ago if he had the ball coming into the FWD line better.
Essendons running players made Lloyd, and we're starting to see that he's just a forward now that he has to work harder for a goal.
Watch Tarrant look much better as your Midfield improve and he gets more time to stay closer to goal.

Tarrant's doing the best he can in a very tough situation at the moment. Without Rocca - who is undoubtedly our primary forward - on the field, Tarrant has the attention of the opposition defenders focused squarely on him. Not to mention a statistic I read in The Age earlier this week that said Taz hasn't received a single free kick this year!

Absolutely.
He already has to put up with 5 blokes hovering around him every game without his own supporters riding his back.
He's up there in the goal kicking and looks like kicking his 50, injury permitting.
We won't see him kick 10 and he's going to have a bad game here or there. Just like a Fev or Hall

Why would you trade someone who's very talented but can't do that well when the team's not getting the ball to him? Better to trade a dud who outperforms for a year. Yeah well, unfortunately we dn't have too many of them either. But Taz... just imagine how well he'd go at Brisbane or Geelong. It would be beautiful/horrible to see. But he's really not the style of player who can carry a whole team on his shoulders. We've actually got one of them, but his hamstring's shot.

No side in the AFL would be able to win a Grand Final with a full forward that can't kick goals. I think Chris Tarrant is an excellent footballer but he just doesn't kick enough goals. I know alot of people will say he has two or three to beat at every contest but the good forwards can still put up with that. eg. Jonathon Brown, Matthew Lloyd. Too often, the opposition has a spare player just sweeping in front of him and he doesn't even provide a contest half of the time. When he does get the ball he just can't kick it. Why don't we try something different? Put Fraser there when richards gets back or even Travis Cloke, he's quick, has a great left foot and can take a grab.

In saying this Tarrant is a great mark, quick and a brilliant athlete.
What we should be doing is developing him into a winger that gives us a target through the middle. Or even possibly like what Melbourne did with Clint Bizzell and have him playing as an attacking, loose halfback. Or he does provide some great trade bait.

I think its pretty obvious that your club believe the season is shot, I was mentioned on fox that Tarrant wants to play up the field, in the mould of hird, so being able to run in the midfield. So having said that, do you think it will be tried now that the season is seen to be over? I personally think it may work, but right now you just don't have another target

Let me start by saying I am one of the loyalist CFC fans around, but lets not kid ourselves about our beloved Chris Tarrant.
He is now what he has been for many years, and that is a player with superstar POTENTIAL. At this stage he hasn’t taken the next step. Lets not forget that he is paid to kick goals, and at this stage he is not fulfilling his half of the bargain.
When a full-forward gets a kick within 40 metres of goal, you would expect that 8 out of 10 times they would kick a goal. This simply isnt the case with Taz. Too often his misses and his 2 goal miss is the difference between a win and a loss.
A lot of people say you cant blame a result on 1 or 2 kicks at goal, but if it is the person who's job it is to kick the goals that is missing, then it is the difference. I can understand presti missing shots at goal, but not tarrant.
Lets use Lloyd as an example. He didn’t really start his career kicking a lot of goals. He did a lot of what Taz does, such as present for marks, make contests, etc etc. But now he is one of the most reliable shots at goal in the game, and Taz is still struggling.
Whoever taught lloyd how to kick for goal, should be hired to do the same thing for taz. If taz could capitalise on 80 percent of his shots at goal, we would be one step closer to a more powerful collingwood.

… oh, and it couldn’t hurt if the same kicking coach could speak to a few of the other boys as well.

Tarrant works well with Rocca and Fraser both in the forward line and the midfield winning possesion through half back quickly. This isnt happening , any of it really, and Taz is struggling.

I would like to see him at CHB. Pace , athletic enough , teach him accountability and it gives us a classier ,younger key position backman in the years to come.

Maybe his opponents haven't infringed either.

Maybe Dustin Fletcher didnt smash Taz in the face during that marking contest.

Lot's of players have and will miss out on some kicks. Maybe the one he should have received was missed.
was he really SMASHED in the face??? Surprised it didn't get looked at if he got smashed.

Could he be a key position backman? He's quick and can chase down players pretty well??????????????????????????????????????????????????????
