You watch Yarran get into a team with a strong structure and be played as a forward, and he'll go gangbusters. He obviously hates playing in the back line, the only time I really saw him smile was on those long runs from half-back capped off with a goal.

You can say that players should be grateful to be played wherever they can, but people aren't robots, and I have a certain respect for those who dig their heels in and demand to be allowed to played to their strengths.

We've ruined Henderson playing him forward when he's obviously a skilled and hardworking defender.

Yazz is originally from perth so I would expect the eagles to make a play for him as well. Adelaide is one step closer too so you never know. His mate Eddy being there could always be an influence on his decision.

I don't think that argument matters... I don't care about supplying others as long as we get something of equal value in return. If it ends up that we score a decent talent who is slightly younger and is unconditional then I couldn't care where he goes...

Yarran has had a terrible year due to a loss of interest. He has shown over several years now what a valuable player he is and would be well suited to richmond. He was a #7 pick iirc and well worth it imo, I just hope we don't let him go for peanuts like we have with others over the past couple of seasons ffs.
Maybe a 3 way deal to secure Aish but the jury is out on Aish and although he is young, we haven't seen enough of him so I would want more than just the player in return for Yazzman

If he does end up staying maybe it's time for the new coach to give Yarran a bit of 'love'. From what I read and hear he now seems a bit of a lost soul off the field. Not sure that's necessarily going to improve going to any team other than the WA teams.

With a new coach coming in (seems to be Bolton) maybe its the circuit-breaker needed for the coach to really take him under his wing, be a friend to him.

Maybe also something radical - make him part of the leadership group. Let him feel some consequence for bad performance, become a mentor for younger guys. What's happening now obviously isn't working.

It doesn't matter what pick a player is taken. It's what's he's shown is what he's worth. This doesn't seem to resonate. We are not owed jack shit, pick 6 or whatever. If a player hasn't lived up to his pick that's our issue and we own it.

There are growing fears Carlton's talented flanker Chris Yarran may have played his last senior game as a Blue after another disheartening VFL performance, ending with a minor groin concern in the dying stages of the Northern Blues' 45-point loss to Sandringham at IKON Park on Sunday.

With speculation mounting that Yarran has already met Richmond senior club officials about joining the Tigers next season, he did not make much of a case for an AFL recall, with his only genuine highlight being a belated goal early in the final quarter.

A Carlton insider, who did not wish to be named but looks remarkably like the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world, believed to be extinct, said that Richmond can go and suck an Andy Collins fart, the Blues would rather Yarran played for the Northern Blues development reserves than ninthmond.

Richmond and Carlton have actually traded pretty amicably in recent years with each other. I don't remember there being too much fuss with the Hampson or Grigg trades.

I don't see us trying to bend you offer, but at the same time how many of you could honestly say that a small forward/flanker with 100 games experience stinking it up in the VFL is worth a first round pick? If it were that scenario at another club I don't think many here would think a first rounder is fair.

If Yarran continues to sook it up because he doesn't want to be there, he wastes another year of his life destroying his reputation. I'll take odds to the new coach extracting something from him. 1) Depends who's paying.
2) I'd be happy to give up a pick around 12-15, but knowing our club we'd trade Kreuzer and Cripps.
3) Mid first rounder, or late first + player.

The answer is a resounding "****in' oath". He's contracted, and is only playing poorly because he wants out. The minute he steps into a new club he'll flick the switch turn it on again. Richmond's time is now, if they want to make a serious play for a flag it's gotta be in the next two years - if Yarran gets parked in our VFL team for all of next year, what kind of condition do you think he'll be in at season's end? He'll stack on the weight, lose most of his pace and touch, and will need a whole season to get back anywhere near his best. If you want him, now's the time - and a kid at pick 14 is all well and good, but by the time they're hitting their straps you've either got a flag or missed the boat anyway.

I can't see any reason for Richmond not to give up their first pick for him.

Depends on our need for him, whether we rate him for his best form rather than one disinterested year. Remember Betts was decidedly average in his last year with us but Adelaide had been watching him for a lot longer and judged him based on his better form.

#6, sublimely skilled. A real point of difference for a challenging side. Not even 25 yet. He has done enough to be rated, not a constant disappointment. Accepting a deterioration because he is being a sook, something around #12-#18 with possible steak knives.

No swapping of 2nd rounders as some are suggesting. You want him, pay for him. We're not losing much by refusing.
