No he's not.

He will be a tiger it's just a matter of whether you guys can get what you want or we can give what we want
What makes you so sure he will be a tiger? As of two weeks ago he wanted to go to either of the Adelaide teams. Port is the club out of the two most into him. I have an impeccable source.

Um no he is contacted and what makes you so sure that he will be a 'Tiger'!

It doesn't work that way Morro.

I think you misunderstood. Yes I'm certain he will be a tiger and the only unknown is if we can get
Him for what we want or if you can get what u want for him. Clear as mud.

I think it's more like 'we (as in the Tigers) can give what Carlton want'.

We aren't having a Franco Cozzo 'Grand Sale'! :p

Im not so certain that he will be a tiger. Possible, but that's not his first choice from what I've been told.

Well he probably won't be if like last year , you conservatively sit on your hands and do nothing while sides like North get active , grab Waite and Higgins , and hand your arse to you in a final AGAIN !!
Peggy&Benny have done a great job stabilizing your club , but your time is now , it's time to break the conservative shackles ... Yarran is contracted , if you wanna dance you gotta pay the band !!

From the article:

"The Tigers are leading the race for the contracted speedster’s services but are not willing to hand over their first-round selection for the West Australian.

It means a month of haggling is ahead before the two parties can agree to a deal that could involved Richmond’s second-round pick and a sweetener."

"But both Carlton and Yarran know he needs a new home to reinvigorate his career."
-----------------

That deal of 2nd rounder + a sweetner, given the context of the circumstances, seems about right I'd have thought.

I agree. It's now or never but cost is everything.

I would have thought he would nominate one of the WA teams to be with the guys he grew up with. Tiges welcome to bid FIRST rounder because sure as hell Freo or West Coast will.

The sooner you guys just accept that a 2nd rounder is the best draft pick you're getting for Yarran, the sooner you guys can focus on your rebuild and getting elite talent back into the club again, and rebuilding.

It was only a theory/opinion before, but now the factual thoughts of Carlton, Richmond, as well as Yarran himself, are being confirmed daily. And those thoughts are simple:

- Despite being contracted, Carlton knows Yarran is gone.
- Despite being contracted, Yarran knows he's leaving.
- Despite wanting a 1st round pick, Carlton (the club, not you guys on BF) KNOW they aren't going to get one.
- Carlton seem to understand that a 2nd round pick + maybe another player, or an exchange of lower picks, is going to be the best they're going to get, because they ALSO know that....
- Despite being contracted, there is absolutely no way Chris Yarran is staying on Carlton's list for another year, therefore other clubs have the bargaining power in this one, not Carlton.

Whilst it's probably not fair, given your draft investment in Yarran, him being contracted for 2016 is now officially irrelevant in on-going negotiations, due to the context of the situation - which was my whole point earlier in the thread.

At this point, anybody from Carlton who's thinking you're getting a 1st rounder for Yarran, contracted or not contracted, and fair or not fair, I'm sorry to say is doing this:

The only way Yarran's value goes up, is if Yarran is wanted by a multitude of clubs.

At this point, it seems only Richmond are REALLY interested. So maybe if Carlton can get a few other clubs vying for him, they might have a shot for a 1st rounder, but if it's just Carlton and Richmond in the negotiations, well Richmond have the advantage in what they can offer, unfair as it may seem.

Or Carlton retain him next year and let him go via free agency in a stronger draft for at worst a 2nd round compo which considering carltons prospects next year, would be about pick 20

No they don't.

He is contracted for the millionth time!
