Really quite amazing that 2 test captains will play their 100th tests in the same game.
Their records are really quite similar.
Clarke
Runs 7940; Ave 52.58; 100's 26; HS 329
Cook
Runs 7883; Ave 47.20; 100's 25; HS 294
Only 57 runs difference; openers are more often than not going to have slightly lower averages as there are less chances for not outs, and Clarke has batted a fair bit at 5 and 6, where Cook's opened for most of his career.
They both debuted against India in India, and both made tons in their first test.
I really wasn't aware how good Cook's record is. He has the most tons for an Engligh test player.
