Erik Satie is the pioneer of trip hop and I salute him.

Mozart = good when studying.

I agree and if you're ever in a rush and traffic is getting you down reach out for the Sabre Dance by Aram Khachaturian... the adrenaline will flow at enomous speed without getting a speeding ticket. :)

For those that like their rock as well as classical, try Yngwie Malmsteen's "Concerto for Electric Guitar in E minor" with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.

Brilliant stuff, a fair dinkum specially composed concerto and not some trumped up attempt to go high brow whilst playing the same old pentatonic garbage backed by an orchestra.

Consists of Malmsteen standing in front of an Orchestra playing his Strat just like it's another instrument in the ensemble, awesome.

hey fly, if you like brass sounds, try listening to scherazade by rimsky korsakov, my orchestra played it today. a fantastic work with lots of horn trumpet and trom solos.
and porthos you are right satie is fantastic

Bach, Elgar, Mozart, Dvorak, Smetana, Rimsky Korsakov and Berlioz, and I particularly love Barber's Adagio for strings.

I like opera too - Puccini, Verdi, Mozart, and Rossini.

I also love light opera - Gilbert & Sullivan.

Vivaldi. I love the Violin, and want to eventually learn how to play one(hopefully correctly).

somehow I think 'a wee doch and doris' will be one of your first attempts. ;)

I have used Vivaldi's 'Mandolin Concerto in C major' as my choice of soundtrack to my video of Venezia. :)
