What crime can i commit in the name of climate change when you will no longer support my "protest"?

Whatever it takes to save the planet. You can be polite and make Earth unliveable and have a world of desperate climate refugees and mass extinctions or you can try and prevent that.

The young generation are deserting fossil fuel parties.

Well lay charges. These people are trying to avert a catastrophe that we are sleep walking into. They aren't damaging anything apart from glass.They can pay for new glass. The real criminals are the people getting rich off putting carbon into the air unnecessarily when there is alternatives.

Because if we've learnt anything from successful protests of the past, it's that not inconveniencing anyone or even being seen is the key?

For the record, I don't agree with damaging art and history, but protests are ignored until people actually can't ignore them anymore. The problem is, people don't equate protesting for the environment with protests for, say, human rights or to end oppression, when the death of the environment is actually a more existential threat.

It's a common debating trick, expect an individual to have a fully formed and costed policy, even though they have no access to the levers of power, otherwise status quo. It's enough to highlight the problem and demand change, then bring the experts in to provide the solution.
