Who knows he is not in the reserves seniors at the moment, not injured, expect he will be cut at the end of the season.

yeah cant see him fitting into the side next year.
especially with this draft going to be so strong.:D

I really cannot see who he would replace in the team - even if there were some serious injuries. Just cannot see him getting another contract at the end of the year.

I think Benji will be cut, but I'd like to keep him for another year and give him another chance because he has plenty of upside, pace and X factor if he busts his gut.

How many cliches did I use then? :o

Didn't mind his debut game with the Bullants when he kicked two goals IIRC.

Re-drafting Benji in the rookie draft or with a late pick in the national draft wouldn't hurt if he's the best available player.

i thought he was impressive in the u18s for wa as a quick half bank flanker.

if carlton get rid of him i'd be delighted for essendon to rookie him.

think he's had hamstring woes so he'd fit in well at windy hill!

One of those WAFL specialists, that does well when afforded lots of space because of his speed and not much else. Club expected his kicking to get better, and it didn't and neither did the rest of his skills TBH. Will be delisted or traded back to WA if we can hlp the kid out that way.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was given another year. Depends on how many we want to draft really - I expect Saddo, Ackland, Blackwell and Jackson to be all gone before him, and wouldn't be at all surprised if Aisake headed back home.

That frees up 5 spots on the senior list - one which will undoubtedly go to Jamison. That leaves room for 4; the three mandatory draft picks, plus one left over for a trade, or another project player if we so choose.

Don't forget we also need to make a call on Jacobs. He has used his 2 years on the rookie list so now either needs to be elevated or delisted.

I would be surprised if we delisted him, he has shown a lot of improvement this year so it would be quite silly IMO to let him go.

Ackland, Saddington, Aisake, Blackwell, Benjamin, Jackson I think should be the delistings. That allows both Jamison and Jacobs to be delisted, and 4 spots to be filled through draft and trade.

*promoted ;)

Didn't forget about Sammy, but not so sure whether he'll be given another chance or not. We've got four ruckmen on our senior list at the moment - with Ackland going, that'll be three. We seem pretty keen to chase after an experienced ruckman, who will fill Ackland's spot - I guess it depends on whether or not the club sees five ruckmen on the senior list as one too many. Can always be re-rookied - though it'd depend on whether the club rated him a better prospect than Benjamin, I guess.

Benji with his string of soft-tissue injuries, hasn't really had a lot of time and a run of games to settle and develop. He is young and could be a late developer and he does have time on his side in that respect. As our list deepens it is going to make it more difficult to keep a spot on the list.

His field kicking has improved somewhat this year, but having said that it is probably still not where you want it when competing against the Geelong's and Hawthorn's. The first time I saw him play post-draft was down at Skilled in a VFL practice game against Geelong. He was floating around HF, took a Royce Hart like mark using his pace and leap coming in from the side of the contest. Although he sprayed a couple of set shots, he is good overhead and actually looked quite menacing as a HF. Seems to have been played a lot across HB for the ants when he has been fit and I wonder if this was to develop his defensive game. This is probably a little left-field but I actually see him best suited as a third tall forward at AFL level. IF he can work on his intensity, tackling and defensive pressure I can see him still making it. I'm not sure his field kicking is up to scratch playing across HB or on a wing at AFL level.

You guys really need to adopt the Hawthorn strategy, if a player doesn't kick at 80 per cent of higher efficiency, you do NOT draft them.
