Haven't seen this raised anywhere to date about your thoughts of recruiting Clinton Young from Hawthorn to Collingwood.

Played 20 of 25 games this year, 116 games for 60 goals.

Has plenty of run and carry and a penetrating left-foot kick. Good size - 189cm/87kg.

Would be good on a wing and provide well needed outside run without costing anything as he is a restricted free agent.

Thoughts?

i think he would be a good get if we do trade Wellers for a draft pick but only way he's leaving hawks is for money so not sure i'd be comfortable signing him to a long term deal on big money.

Put Seedsman in the gym and we already have an equivalent player.

I know that with Rhyce Shaw, it's not fair to judge a player after just one incident. But Young's effort at diving in the goalsquare against Kieran Jack was absolutely putrid. Possibly lost them the game. Weak as piss.

Pass.

Prefer to recruit kids and keep the cap space.

Apparently not happy with the $$$ offered by Hawks.

Agree with recruiting kids, if things go well our first four picks would be - 13, 17, 18, 39.

Salary cap room will be eased with Wellingham and Dawes leaving on top of any other possible trades/delistings.

I think we'd be mad not to make a play fro him due to the fact he's the type of player we really need and will only cost us via contract (plus another reason to pi$$ off the Dawks......lol).

Would be a risk but selecting him would help fix a few problems. Price is the big issue, I doubt we will be able to afford him given he wants to leave Hawthorn for more money.

For those calling him a pea heart should go and rewatch the 08 grand final. He's a quality outside player with elite disposal, something we were lacking a fair bit of last season.

Has played some great games against us in the past. Would take him if it didn't cost us much coin. His kicking is something we are missing from the back half. Not too worried about his pea heart.

Would slot in beautifully at half back but dunno, him falling over in the goal square is what cost his side a GF.

Would need to get some sort of hardness about him.

On another note, I would not mind if we picked up Henry Slattery from the Dons. Good run with player and would be the one to play a defensive role in the midfield.

The problem with Young is that he's a classic home and away footballer, who looks great for 22 weeks of the season, but when the pressure and intensity lifts in the finals he falls away and is found out.

Having said that, if the Eagles are going to give us pick 17, maybe we can use that to give to the Hawks for Young, wouldn't be a terrible swap, Sharrod for Young.

he is a unristricted free agent as too why we should definitely be looking at him

So why would we offer up pick 17 for a player you acknowledge fails to fire in finals. For me pick 17 needs to be used on a quality draft pick.

free agent so no need for any trading!
