Yes, we are happy with our picks and will go to the draft but this doesn't impact Clinton Young.

We'd still be involved with Clinton Young until Friday's deadline, particularly as Walsh said nothing abouy ruling him out. He chose his words very carefully did Walshy.

I'm confused. We signal our intentions of going after Young for 2 weeks with money seemingly being the only sticking point and then when we finally free up cap space by offloading Dawes we decide not to pursue Young anymore. It doesn't add up.

Young has either told us he is staying with the Hawks or we are intending on going after a bigger fish.

To say we are happy with our picks is irrelevant to the Young situation as he is a FA.

This is the main thing here. I think the media may be misinterpreting what was said on SEN this morning.

If we don't get Young... you would feel that we have a reasonable amount of space at the moment. You would think we'd be getting someone else. I doubt we'd be saving coin just for the likes of Thomas and his new contract, for example.

I'm sure we will have a few players coming out of contract- namely Daisy so there's no need to just chase anyone just because we will have some $$$ available.

It will be Clinton Young as our last recruit or nothing.

we could rework the contracts so that some payments can be made in advance this year (with the cap freed up from Dawes and Wellingham), and then less in future years and we could use the saving to keep players and recruit others.

I think we can draw the conclusion that Young is not coming for whatever reasons; money, brother, didnt go well with Bucks etc, Hawks came back........doesnt matter he aint coming.

Personally not that fussed as dont particularly rate Young highly enough that am happy for Seedsman to sit behind him. I have said for a while much happier to have Seedsman have more time pumped into him and then save the $$$$ for a ruck like Giles or leaving it until 2014 and using the cash then during FA or having some up our sleeves to make sure our 'stars' are shielded.

I am hoping the Pies have decided that Seedsman, Paine & witts are going to see more action next year and we will keep our pwoeder dry for 2014 when BJ, Jolls and Dids are no longer at CFC.

Must admit not yet sure how I feel we have come out of this. Losing Dawes, Wellingham and #58 for #17, 20 and 45 doesnt feel like we have got anything particularly special.

Well the Picks are just Numbers Now but in about a Months Time it would be Different

Agree completely.

No people, we wont be loading up for Tippett.

I think if we're done in terms of trading and signing players, then we need to look at restructuring some of the deals, in particular the high end deals that Pendles and Swan are on.

By unloading Dawes and Wellingham, we should be looking at front loading a few contracts for next season to ease the burden and signing pressures we may face in resigning a few key players, whilst also keeping us as serious players in free agency going forward.

I love how the media reports things, Walsh says we aren't interested in trading for anyone else and are happy to keep our picks, and all of a sudden that's a "no" from the Pies on Young.

This ain't over yet, Young hasn't made a decision and we are still after him, don't worry about that, after all we actually don't give anything away to get Young, especially now that we have plenty of cap space thanks to Dawes and Wellingham jumping ship.
