Agree with the above . Especially the bolded parts
I'm another person who washes almost everything daily (if I've worn it all day) , including jeans (coats/jackets are the main exception)
I don't wash footy Guernseys very often though

Reading this thread makes me feel like some sort of peasant.

Jocks, socks, sports clothes, shirts etc. - into the wash ASAP.

Other things, anywhere from rarely to never. I've got a coat I wear each morning in winter over my regular clothes. Wouldn't even know how to wash it, dry clean I guess. Certainly not doing that on a daily basis.

1 wash a week is sufficient....4 sets of everything.

2 days for each apparel is fine if you wash/shower every other day.... Unless you sweat alot, or are incontinent....Nothing worse than poopy-pants.

Bad habits being exposed!!

Underwear and socks after 1 day. Sometimes (during summer) I may wear 2-3 pairs of underwear in a day as I can't stand sweaty underwear!!
Shorts - Will usually get 2-3 days wear out of them before plonking them in the wash. Reason being that I may only wear them for 3-4 hours in a day, thus can squeeze another 4-8 hours of wear before they'd technically be dirty enough to wash.
Shirts - same as the shorts, have worn the same shirt across 2 days. Because of my work schedule I find I still wear 2 casual shirts in a day.

I have enough shirts, shorts, socks and underwear to last me months before I'd need to wash due to running out of clothes :D

My neighbor complained to me the other day that I wash my clothes too often.

Every day I wear a new set of:
pair of jeans, socks, underwear (well sometimes), wool skin, cotton top, cotton shirt, another over-shirt or jacket.

So, every Saturday I have 5 jeans, 10 socks, 5 underwear (well), 5 cotton tops, 5 cotton shirts, 5 over-shirts/jackets, that I wash, and that I hang up to dry in the shared backyard clothes-line.

I get they're complaining that I take up so much space. But in all honesty, regardless of that, am I washing my clothes too often? I asked someone else, and they said I shouldn't be getting just one day's use out of a pair of jeans, nor a jacket. That I should probably only wear one pair of jeans all week, and one or two jackets all week.

But to me that's disgusting. Clothes stink very quickly, and in a fashion-sense, you have to mix and match every day otherwise you're kinda like Marge Simpson in that episode where everyone laughs at her for buying that new hot evening dress and just wearing it every time she was out and about.

So...what's YOUR regimen for wearing and washing clothes? What do you advise?
I wear 2 pairs of socks almost every day, creates a lot of extra washing...

Some of you must be real unhealthy units or are doing something that is making you smell like shit if you're needing to wash things so often.

I wash my underwear and socks daily, even will change twice if I've worked all day and head out somewhere that night.

Bottoms I could wear on 2-4 times before giving them a wash, and items like t-shirts, shirts, jumpers etc it depends on the weather and how much I've done during a day. I'm well aware of when I've sweated a shitload and have made my clothes quite smelly, but the majority of time that never happens after just one wear. I'm pretty skinny though, so unless I end up exercising, having to walk somewhere fast or get stuck in a hot environment my clothes smell fine.

Or.....you need to see a GP and have your sense of smell tested. ;)

Underwear and socks daily, as well as business shirts for work. Can wear T-Shirts across a couple of days if I havn't done anything that would cause them to smell. All other garments (Jumpers, jackets, jeans etc.) are not washed until they really need to be.

Simply put, if the clothes don't smell and feel fresh then there's no need to wash them.

Why?

Work boots I'm guessing, but I've always just worn one pair of Explorer socks and never had any blisters etc.
Just prefer regular sports socks under the work ones seems more comfortable and better with sweat. Also usually wear 2 under casual shoes as well to make them thicker. Don't wear explorers very often unless it's freezing cold they are almost too thick.

Seriously, you should rarely, if ever, wash jeans. How the **** do they smell? What do you mean about "feeling fresh" with jeans? Freshly washed jeans are awful.

This.
I reckon I wash my jeans every few months.

Did i read correctly that you have three layers on top and wash the outer layer after a single use?

Everything is washed after one use.
I find that strange personally as I don't think a one size fits all approach is the best way to deal with clothes

I guess being clean, smelling best as possible, is very important to me. Hygiene and clothes. Probably paranoid about it. Wouldnt say obsessive compulsive, just priority.
