Think the leadership group should be:
Heppell (C), Hooker (VC), Hurley, Z.Merrett, Goddard, Daniher, Baguley, Watson, Hocking, Myers.

Provides a good mix of younger and older players, if however the likes of Watson, Goddard and Hocking would rather just play footy without the added responsibility or pressure of being formal leaders of the club (because let's face it they'd be leaders anyway even without an official title, etc.), then we could probably go with a smaller group or add players like Zaharakis and/or Fantasia in their place (if those guys are deemed suitable for such a role).

10 players? So almost half the players each game are in the leadership group. Don't like. Keep it to 5-6 IMO.

Goddard or Heppell for Captain in 2017; Heppell for Captain in 2018 and beyond.

In my opinion, Heppell is definitely the man to be captain. Even though I remember Watson saying a while ago, that looking back he would have liked another year before receiving the role and with Heppell being the same age Jobe was, you can't compare the amount of support Heppell would have around him now, to what Jobe had back then.

Not a fan of the co-captin system. I think the benifents of having several captains are covered with a leadership group.

Would like Hooker as the VC. Seems like a guy with great character and percents. He can lead that young forward line and go back and straighten things up down back when needed. Plus I just love his commitment to the club.

yeah disagree, simply because Hurley and Hooker will provide exactly the same level of leadership onfield regardless of title or not

From an outsiders point of view, it does seem like Heppell has had the future captaincy sewn up since he arrived at the club, much like Wines with us. Would something like this work?
