just got the new coaches corner and dimma specified our fwd 50 entries as something that hasnt worked. i really think if we can fix this up we can rise quickly up the ladder.

totally agree, we need to be more clinical than 2010 bomb it long just to justify we 'get it into the 50' catagory!

The problem is by kicking "a bomb" the ball is moved on from the contest up field quickly and it is also the fastest way to move the ball inside 50, hopefully before defenders have a chance to get back. To lower the eyes and maybe move the ball around before going inside 50 takes time, which means that it is harder to find a pin point target as defenders have time to get back but it also means you have a greater chance of losing the ball up field (closer to the other teams goal). Its actually quite hard to get right. Not as simple as, oh just look for targets or shorter passes.
Simply question requires a simple answer . Stop playing 2 forwards who can't kick , can't run and refuse to tackle .
Play a forward who can take a mark 45 out and slot it and therefore forcing the opposition to give them some attention . Miller and Vickery hardly leave 40 Mtrs from goal and ATM neither are kicking accurate enough or putting on enough defensive pressure .
With Grimes returning now is the ideal time to play Griffiths forward , starting 40 out and leading up at the ball .

Except he hasn't played forward all year or preseason and hasn't been involved in the forward game plan. Not a quick fix.

we are not saying not to bomb it long when it suits us too, what im saying is have a look first thats all. there is no point bombing it long when a kpf is leading at the ball carrier on a lead 30m out. we seem to ONLY bomb it long instead of picking the right entry to suit the instance at the time.im also not saying to flick it around the fwd 50 for the perfect lead and kick and im also not saying its simple either.
