Yeah- it's a bit meh compared with the neighbours announcement. Lets see
who the other 2 spots go to.
I really dont know much about Barker, so I'll best leave any comments on hold.
I do agree with you BB. in as far as that it ceratinly looks that way, but maybe there is more happening under the current than we're aware of.
Just because we aren't make a song and dance about any possibilities doesn't mean we are sitting idle.
Rumour going around that we are waiting to see who doesn't make the Essendon panel and go after them

ALAN Richardson might have been overlooked for the top job at Essendon, but it has done little to lessen his currency in a frenetic AFL coaching market.
It is believed Richardson, a highly rated assistant to the sacked Matthew Knights at Essendon, is being strongly courted by West Coast and Port Adelaide
Another former senior coach previously linked to the Dons, Dean Laidley, is a chance to provide tactical support to Brett Ratten at Carlton.

Two assistants who left the Blues, Brett Montgomery and Matthew Lappin, should also find new homes.
Montgomery is in the mix at one of his former clubs, Western Bulldogs, and Lappin has been linked to Collingwood.

Not sure I would like to see Lappin at the filth![]()

The Blues have moved to bolster their depleted coaching staff as well with the appointment of former Hawthorn forward John Barker as an assistant to senior coach Brett Ratten.
Barker, 35, spent just two seasons at Hawthorn as forwards coach after 2007-08 at St Kilda under Ross Lyon.
Barker is the first coaching replacement since the Blues sacked former Port Adelaide and Western Bulldogs utility Brett Montgomery and former Carlton star forward Matthew Lappin almost after bowing out of this year’s finals with a narrow first week loss to Sydney.
