Banter Coffee

Thought this might have been a good story starting for a second...

I had a wild night one time there in the Cross, I think I'd need counselling if I relived it though. Started watching a friends band at a pub early in the night before one of the other bands caught the pub on fire, had transit police arrests, drinking flaming Lamborghinis with some NRL players, strippers and got worse from there. It was proper rock star mental.

Only drink instant at work. Found I could literally save $2k a year. Also all those empty milk kilojules.

Anywhoo some campaigner at work swapped the blend 43 for International Roast.
Shit kents, hope they contract an incurable disease.

Wish I had you're strength. Literally spend $3.80 a day, 5 days a week so I can drink a decent coffee.... cut my losses and drink blend 43 in the afternoon though....

Oh sorry, didn’t realise this turned into a coffee thread.

I’m in a bind in that I’m a coffee addict yet I live in Sydney. The few times I’ve been to Melbourne I’ve just hit the cafes hard to enjoy it. I don’t know why the coffee tastes different in different cities but it does, and many Sydney siders don’t believe me.

The drip type coffee in Japan was awesome. St. Ali in Melbourne serve it.
Yeah there are some specialist places around. Some of the drip coffee guys here take it very seriously. Actually there's a town called Karuizawa which has a big barista tournament. There are a few places there with quite to very good coffee and really good Italian food too. Your average J-Coffee though is worse than bad!
My wife has started working at Starbucks early mornings. I don't like their way of making the coffee, but the wife gets free coffee which I can brew how I like which is not too bad.
Best coffee around me though is a place owned by an Aussie mate in Hakuba. Sends the staff down to Tokyo for proper training.

BTW have found good coffee everywhere I have been in Sydney, obviously the tourist spots.
Just had a wonderful skinny FW in Kirribilli.

The coffee culture in Melbourne is a bullshit myth.
You’re a bullshit myth. So is Sydney.

**** Sydney.

You drink International roast and come from Sydney. You are not qualified to talk coffee. It's like South Australians saying water purity is overrated.

You are correct

Your mum drinks International roast with skinny milk, I had to turn her down.
Her International Roast is better than the shit campaigner coffee in that shit city I have to come back to

Lunch here is better than next to that stormwater canal called the Yarra
