Winning flags is a tough gig, getting close can be disappointing but it beats missing finals, frustrating as it is.
We all tend to overestimate our talent.

Seams like at Collingwood everyones backing each other up. Thats the issue. You are never going to improve that way. its like its no issue there at all.
Ill like to think they are going to improve themselves but really can not see it currently.
Everyones scratching each others backs all the time.

Not sure about doom, but they've had to get used to being less successful. From almost perennial finalists, they have dropped to 50% finals participation in the AFL era. Might need to accept another 2-3 year period out of contention.
