Would love to have a team but not sure we'll be picked due to the limited number of teams and Doggies and Melbourne already having one.

I know that but they I'm pretty sure that there wont be 18 teams and all situated in Victoria. With that the smaller number of prospective teams in Vic would be even even smaller due to the doggies and Melbourne having their own sides.Article was also saying that in 2017 they have a League with AFL Teams in it
Women's Footy I have been Told is Expected to be Huge
WNBL is about as big as the NBL and seemingly far more stable. Is Women's Cricket Soccer or Basketball huge?
All for women's footy, can't help but think the AFL would be better having stand alone sides though. There just isn't the talent for 18 women's teams or 10 in Victoria and I reckon supporters of clubs who miss out will be alienated. If they go the aligned route and there's no Collingwood, there's no way I'd back a women's team of a rival AFL club.
Basketball and Netball is at a junior level and women's cricket, netball is pretty big.Is Women's Cricket Soccer or Basketball huge?

Knew cricket and netball but didn't realise that basketball was that big until my grand-daughter started playing last year.
Courts are full every Saturday in the Northern suburbs.
Not much professional level as not the money nor sponsorship.I'm talking about at the professional levels not junior participation
Is there actually any money to be made in Women's footy? This may be a reason why the club isn't pushing harder for a license, it seems like a lot of resources will be needed to be put into the team without much reward.
Well it's not sustainable to run a club that looses money, I wouldn't want a women's team of the club was loosing money supporting it.Do we play footy just to make money?
Afl is a business so yes.Do we play footy just to make money?
