With all the talk of Kerr being traded for 2 first round picks would anyone here consider this trade ?
ive posted it on the pies board will be interesting to see the 2 boards different reactions
i personally think if we did this we would be getting a pretty good deal
you gotta give to get

Pick 8 to Collingwood

For

Sean Rusling and Ben Reid

Ben Reid was an early pick in a strong draft and not many of the KPP from that draft have done much to date, in saying that i do believe that most of them (gumbleton Hansen Leunberger Reid Riewoldt etc) will all be guns
and Rusling can clearly play but big question marks over his shoulders

What do Richmond fans think about that Trade?
Are we getting ripped off
Are we ripping them off
Would you do it?

Nah I don't like it because I don't think we need Rusling, I really don't think much of him to be honest.

Reid however is an interesting one......yeah I'd probably give up Pick 8 for him.

No.

Rusling is damaged goods that I would risk.

And Ben Reid has struggled to get a game all year despite KPP positions up for grabs at Collingwood.

Pass.

Reid actually was getting settled in to the side and broke his foot. Rusling i can understand, it's a risk, could be a great trade, or a disaster.

But i could understand the risk for Richmond, Rusling could possibly only play a handful of games, and Reid might not live up to potential. But if it were to work out, you'd have a great CHF and probably the quickest leader in footy, capable of plenty of goals.

All that said, i'm not sure on your current forward line prospects, minus Riewoldt.

My mistake. Didnt realise Reid was injured again. Although I dont call one good game this year "settling into the side."

I dont think it works for either team as Collingwood wouldnt want to give away two players they have put so much development into, and Richmond should just plain not want to give away our 1st round pick.

It isnt a horrible suggestion I just dont think it works.

If they want Kerr they have to give up something good though
i guess it all depends how badly they want Kerr
and how highly we rate reid , russ would just be a sweetner but could be very handy

There are also 14 other clubs they could get a better deal from to get picks for Kerr.

so you think we would be asking for alot? compared to what other teams will give up a 1st rounder for

Yes, it's our first rounder and it's pick 8. Teams with a lower 1st round pick will demand less and it depands on each teams circumstance in their development and each players worth to each club. I dont think we're in the position to be having a shot at a kid who has barely played AFL (still talented though, dont get me wrong) for our first pick and then not have our first pick until number 26.

It's not how we should be operating as a club still trying to build from the ground up. Stick with the plan and keep a 1st round pick in our pocket always.

Not trading our 1st rounder anymore, look at who we got last year the cotch!.

Pretty hard to stuff up pick 2- which you were guaranteed almost the best player/midfielder in the draft with Kreuzer a lock at #1.

Anyway, the trade wouldn't go through. Both are young and are rated extremely highly within the club and as someone mentioned, we have invested alot in them to offload them so soon.

Also, interesting to note you have pick 8 yet again.

On recent form, pick 8 has yielded JON and you have offloaded it in the Tarrant/Polak/Medhurst trade.

Well some might be as surprised as I was when I heard it, but Kerr will be chased heavily by the Bumbers, who are prepared to forego early draft picks and Johns, thats the funniest and suprising bit.
Given it came from their coach, Knighter, over breakfast recently, I would suggest it to be from a realiable source.
