Seriously.

Seriously.

If Tippett goes to a Victorian club, we need to reassess our processes as a football club. If we can't hold onto footballers during such a key period, we never will. Never. Bock, Davis, and now Tippett. There are no excuses. Hawthorn kept Franklin. Brisbane have kept Brown all these years. And Colligwood kept ALL of Thomas, Pendlebury, Swan and Cloke during the expansion club era.

We are the only club consistently losing CRITICAL players. We are doing something wrong.

Well, I suppose AFGM did say that Carlton and Sydney were crap. Nothing on the Pies though!

And after muddying the waters for the last week, Kurt will announce today that he wants to return to play for the Gold Coast. This is fair enough since he did sign a contract with them twelve months ago.

Does anyone wonder why the only club that has said virtually nothing about Kurt over the last six months is Gold Coast?

if he goes east, heads must roll,

but as I said, I can't see it happening - has there been a decent player in the history of the AFL not linked to Collingwood at some point?

I think they have? Can't be bothered finding quotes but I'm fairly certain Bluey talked about him.

I really hope a decision is made this morning. I need to do some work.
Enough BS rumors have spread. The sooner it's out in the open, the better. Be a man KT.

Or maybe it says more about the individuals?

This makes no sense at all. Any decision made by a player is a reflection of the club. Unconditionally, categorically, unequivocally. We have full control of who we select to play football for this club. If said selected players opt to leave when they are most required, and really, during the only period in which it matters to have a list (when we can actually achieve something with said list), that is a failing on our part to pick dependable footballers.

So the journos can tell us with confidence that Tippett is going to Gold Coast... Or Sydney... Or Collingwood... Or Carlton... Or Brisbane... Or staying in Adelaide.

A bunch of spanners. That's almost a third of the competition's teams.

They throw out rubbish like 'Tippett to Carlton' because they know when he goes to Queensland they can say 'Oh look we all knew it was Queensland, but there was definitely interest from Victoria'.

If there's no controversy, there's no papers to sell.

Unfortunately, by keeping silent, Tippett is just feeding it.

I think you have got to the extreme to quickly in your arguement, clearly that statement is incorrect but it is what people will be basing their arguement against on.

Our issue is that of players leaving outside family reasons - i.e purely financial, when there is a anecdotal evidence that these movements are rare, but if Tippet moves to Melbourne more apparent in our club (as you say, Tippet, Davis, Bock)

with the addition of the 4 players likely to leave Port, it isn't the best picture to present of the city of Adelaide.

I think last years Mitch Clark trade is probably what will be done for the Tippett trade. At the time, Clark was a keyforward/ruck, he is an atheletic tall like Tippett as well. I think that would be about the mark to be honest.

Its the only similar trade I can find of recent times to get some sort of comparison as to what may happen.

By your own argument that "Any decision made by a player is a reflection of the club.", wouldn't it reflect well on the club that the majority of players signed on?

Of course. It all counts.

But losing Tippett, Bock and Davis in the space of three years while a club like Collingwood holds onto every single required player without the slightest hiccup is unforgivable, and sees us further and further from anything resembling a premiership.

For what it's worth, I was pro trading the bloke. But if we can't hold onto a player when we want to, three times in a row, there's a serious issue to be sorted.

Utter rubbish.

I think honesty is the key. If he's doing it for money and goes to Victoria then he needs to be honest and not treat us like a pack of idiots. I'd be fine if he was honest about it and just said "I couldn't turn down such a big offer, this is my career".
