Re: will TOMAHAWK begin pre-season training with GFC today?

Reckon the club will let him go to schoolies?

They should, most other potential draftees are going to schoolies.

yep, so he can go out on the grog, get plastered, and do something stupid like jump off a wall and break his ankles... or has someone else screwed up their career by doing something like that?

Re: possible TOMAHAWK jersey number..

I hope sam hunt doest get promoted. I reckon he hasn't got what it takes. I went to school with him and he doesn't deserve it. The cant read to play at all. I reckon give it to a new draftee.

I went to school with an ex geelong player as well, thought he was a f####ing idiot, constantly showing off and not disciplined. I was suprised when he ended up at Geelong but he ended up winning a brownlow in '89.

Re: will TOMAHAWK begin pre-season training with GFC today?

Personally, I don't think he should.

He's earned his right to let his hair down people, year 12 is a bit*h and he should do whatever he wants (within reason and legality) at the end of it, like the rest of us are entitled to...

Hawkins Thread #501 - What if he's pie?

What happens if he is no good? Season ending injury? Career ending injury?

I am just as excited about the prospect of Hawkins than the next Geelong fan, but lets tone it down a little. One thing is talking him up, but another is believing your own tripe like many are on this forum.

Maybe- but he has also been given the opportunity to represent a football club in which is he paid to do so. I think he should start training with the rest of the boys.

That's what I would do anyway...

The Hawkins Pledge

Fed up with all the speculation over the newest Father-Son recruit?
Take the pledge...

I pledge not to talk about Tom Hawkins in this forum until the 2007 season commences.

Re: Hawkins Thread #501 - What if he's pie?

maybe they sacked Kingsley so that he wouldn't learn the trick of turning chocolates into boiled lollies...

err...maybe they should have applied that to Thompson too ;)

If we start bring in other sports , we better be careful how we allocate a few other numbers that are fairly meaningless in AFL terms
like

#99 ; Wayne Gretzky
#46 : Valentino Rossi

Im sure there are others

As for as him having to earn 26. Thats a joke. Normally any kid who they considered had a bright future would be given a lowish number , like Bartel getting 3 , first up. If Tom wants 26 and its available then we should give it to him. Its not such a big deal.

Exactly. It's common sense. David Clarke got 14 like his father, so did Matty Scarlett, and now Hawkins. Pretty obvious really.
