Seriously tho, the umpiring has become an utter joke. The games are going to become unwatchable soon becoz of these peanuts!
Imagine losing a gf becoz a player squirted a bit of water and the ump paid 50. How bloody soft!! And not to mention that holding the ball that was not paid with a few mins to go. He had ample time to get rid of it, gets caught with a great tackle and drops the ball.
It's un-Australian not to pay that free kick!!
All this talk about free kicks to Freo in the forward 1/2 , according to the stats we had 6 but Richmond had 5 , one more wippy do . So we were more accurate kicking goals from them but overall Richmond had the rub of the green with 24 to 18 ,that's 6 more free kicks.

Your free kicks in the f50 weren't free kicks though, most of ours were

Yes you are right but good teams when playing bad can still pinch it thats why with 1 minute left on the clock you supposed to kick long and near the boundary if can't pinch hit someone short not down the corridor when they were only 2 players. Sure bad kicking cost us but that silly kick cost us more.
Every Time i see Luv houli posts i boil.LOL.
yeah he made an absolutely horrible mistake, but that doesnt mean what he has done this season is suddenly just null and void, hes been good for us this season and he has been good for us overall since he came to us, if it was jack riewoldt who did that would all his accomplishments and match winning feats be questioned too? not denying houli did shit at that moment, i was as pissed as you were, im still actually pissed about it lol, but the thing is id bet he would be feeling just as worse

Yeah that's fair enough, but I'm not talking about the result. I'm talking about umpires ruining the game, it's so frustrating. Why do we talk about umpires so much? There has to be something wrong if they are the topic of conversation after every weekend.
Too many tiggy touch free kicks for absolutely nothing. #putyourwhistleaway

Take two off. Maric when he had the Freo dude done cold and marked it anyway.

How many times does this sort of thing have to happen before we start looking at blokes who hardly ever cut it in these types of games.
The bottom 6 to 8 players in the team are the problem. Just not enough class and quality spread throughout.

The media and others talk about Fremantles forward woes and totally ignore ours. Seriously take riewoldt out of the equation and ask yourselves what is left. This question always comes up after these sort of games. Griffiths, Vickery and the small medium forwards we have tried are not the answer. No point banging it in there if it results in nought, in big games this is exactly what continues to happen. It is the area we must improve in the most and to do this we need new personel.

How does a side that wins contested ball, clearances, goes inside 50 11 times more and wins most other stats lose a game. We win in these areas most weeks yet against the better sides continue to struggle. The answer is a lack of polish.
Our ball use and decision making remains a huge concern. It has always been a concern. The reliance on too few in these areas leaves us vulnerable in far too many games.

What most don't say or fail to realise, we are in a real dog eat dog fight, not to make top 4 but just to make finals. That is how even the comp is.

In all honesty i can't see top four. We have 6 games to go and i can only nominate two wins with any sort of confidence, gcs at the mcg and ess,
We play Adelaide at AO, To me that is a tough gig and a 50/50 game.
Collingwood in a return bout, this side has had the wood on us and we only beat them by 5 points last time in a game that could have gone either way 50/50 game.
North Melbourne well they are our bogey side and starting to push hard for a finals berth 50/50 at best.
Last but not least we play the Hawks who have plenty to play for, top 2 and an easier run to the flag. If im honest we will lose this one.

There's an old adage in footy. Take it one week at a time. With lob sided draws this has never ever been more apt.

Vickery didnt play

Sydney getting hammered. We will finish 4th!

I think unlikely Dan, but if we can sneak fourth I reckon our loss to Freo could be a good thing. My thinking is that it might help them secure 1st on the ladder and personally I'd rather play them, even in Perth, than say Hawthorn or West Coast.

In both games against Freo we've clearly matched or bettered them around the ground. In one we dominated them on the scoreboard and in the other we were let down by inaccuracy. I think we have their measure tbh.

Our free kicks were there, yours weren't.

Just posted this in the Autopsy thread. I think we are definitely better than Freo. We were missing more players as well. They had Johnson out, we had Vickery, Edwards, Conca and C. Ellis.

Out of the top four I would love to play them again in finals.

Can't blame one incident for the loss. However Houli for an experienced player should know to kill the game. Were our runners not allowed on the ground, should have passed the message on?

Cotchin, Martin, Reiwoldt and Griffiths kick straight and we win by 30pts. Hardly the bottom 6.
As you then say, we won every other stat, so the problem wasn't the team at large.
It was taking opportunities in front of goal, nothing else.

Get on the ladder predictor Easty!

The dilemma is most likely it's going to mean playing an away final in Perth, either in week 1 or week 2 (I think Hawthorn will finish 3rd but win in Perth regardless of who they play).

I don't think we were that far off Freo to be honest. Actually I was expecting them to be better.

I'm not questioning the guy for his beliefs what he feels for the club and i know he's hurting the question i ask is as a footballer with such a big hype to me isn't even good enough to be in the 22. I set next to a mod at saints game and he was horrible we counted in the game i think it was 2 good things he did. His endeavour is there no question but his executions are just plain horrible. Did you see the one where he went to spoil and missed everything man and ball and they get a goal from memory.
