Ozil central, Sanchez and KDB wide.

This team picks itself about from 2 positions imo, Ozil vs Silva and Bellerin vs Zabaleta. Based on this season you pick Ozil and Bellerin.

Combined XI of the top 4 at the halfway point of the season based on form this season:

Lloris
Bellerin - Alderweireld - Koscielny - Monreal
Kante - Dembele
De Bruyne - Ozil - Mahrez
Kane/Vardy (flip a coin IMO)

Strange that I ended up with only 1 City player. Could probably argue Fernandinho over Dembele, maybe? I also think Vertonghen and Koscielny is a flip of the coin based on form this season as well.

Solid.

But Kos is the best CB in the league this season so I don't think his spot can be disputed.

Same goes with Vardy.

not really. we are third of the 4 after all. i mean who are you going to pick? i think hart should be the keeper but i dont really care. sagna has a decent shout but suffers from being part of a rubbish back 4, plus the better rb has been injured. our best cb has been injured. kolarov is mega gash. dinho probably could slot in. yaya has done decently in patches. de bruyne yes, silva has been injured, sterling hasnt been as good as mahrez, and kun has been injured. them's the breaks.

I think it's pretty close between him and Alderweireld but yeah I get your point. I considered it because the Alderweireld-Vertonghen pairing has been the best CB partnership in the league this season and Spurs have the best defensive record in the league (a sentence I honestly never thought I'd write) and I'm undoubtedly looking at it through Spurs-tinted glasses.

Cech and Hart are better than Lloris and in better form. Going on form Vardy is comfortably ahead of Kane.

Could say the same about Lloris as well. Wasn't great against Newcastle but has saved us a lot of points this season. I think this discussion has been had before and most Arsenal, Spurs and City fans said they were happy with their goalkeeper and wouldn't swap him for any of the others.

Statistically speaking it's actually quite even, but after seeing them I would (reluctantly) swap Lloris for Cech in the combined team based on this season.

Not comfortably imo. Vardy obviously had that unbelievable run but Kanes only a few goals behind and has massive contributions in other areas. As I said, toss of the coin so I wouldn't at all be bothered if it was Vardy that most people would select.

Kane is 4 goals behind. Pretty sure only spurs fans would think it's a toss up.

How do you mean? Build up play? Vardy has 3 assists compared to Kane's 1 fwiw.

Overall Kane is the better striker but I don't think he's near Vardy's season (so far).

Vardy - 15 Goals 3 Assists in 19 games (all starts)
Kane - 11 Goals 1 Assist in 19 games (all starts)
Giroud - 10 Goals 1 Assist in 13 + 6 games

Vardy is clearly the superior striker out of the top 4 teams, Kane and Giroud about on par in second. Kane's stats are somewhat padded by 7/11 goals being scored in thumping wins over Bournemouth, West Ham and Norwich, while Giroud has scored 1 in 10 different games.

Going by my own criteria of form in this season you're probably right.

Kane is a better striker than Vardy. Vardy is just having a better season currently, but than can change within the space of a month or two

Interesting that former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, from ESPNFC, has the top 5 GK's in the Premier League in order as:

1. De Gea, 2. Courtois, 3. Lloris, 4. Cech, 5. Hart
