better than pendlebury? friend of the family?

Nah mate, just a lover of old style footy nous. It can't be taught, some players just have it, they know where to go to find the ball before it gets there. They maximise their skills and they have an impact at critical times in a game. Beams is one of these.
I love what Pendles has done. His transition from Basketball to Footy has been amazing but he still plays a bit of basketball out on the field at times. His vision is amazing though and he brings others into the game with his skills and he is so unflappable, he seems to have ages once he takes possession of the ball.
Beamer just seems (to me) to have a little bit more "killer instinct" with his moves. When he does something it has a real impact. I'm hoping they both play every game this year and if they do....Pendles will win the Brownlow and Beamer will win the Norm Smith.

Well I'm not that romantic about the whole thing. I really couldnt care less about awards, although if Beams wins the Norm Smith, it means that we've made the grand final and that we've probably won. As for nous, vision, killer instinct and other sexy words, I prefer to look at effectiveness and Pendlebury is the most effective that we've got. I like Beams. I hope he gets back to his form before the injury. I tend to look at the players who arent up to scratch, rather than try to list the best players in some Mike Sheahan process. Having said that, I was just surprised that someone would put Beams ahead of Pendlebury, but go right ahead...

Personally I hope to one day be able to put Beams ahead of Pendles without my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. If that day comes in the next two years I suspect I'll be watching Pendles lifting a large cup!

Pendles has not hit his peak yet.
