Lloydy loves the Banch mark and thinks Caleb Daniel needs more support - I have to agree

Speaking for those that don't hate him but think he is unsuitable as a defender I agree with David king.Aahhhh so Caleb Daniel only sucks because the REST OF THE TEAM SUCKS. Go figure.
Soo what do you all Caleb Daniel haters gonna say now????
Time to take a time-out, Mrs DanielAahhhh so Caleb Daniel only sucks because the REST OF THE TEAM SUCKS. Go figure.

Maybe I should. I'm getting tired of being right all the time.Time to take a time-out, Mrs Daniel

And in addition, be aware of the sustainable competitive advantage some teams possess and the ones that small Melb clubs cannot manufacture. The solution is to go hard at having equity in the competition at the forefront of every strategy.
Some teams shouldn't have free NGA picks that others don't.
Some teams shouldn't have gift fixtures that others don't.
All teams should be able to pay well below the salary cap when not performing to enable serious money to lure the best players.
All teams should have more flexibility to have larger lists and spend less per player when trying to build.
The draft should not consist of 20 different forms of discounts and free players for random teams.
The best teams in the league shouldn't have access to the best kids due to FS / NGA nonsense.

There are six St Kilda players to three covering that side of the ground and when he changes direction three of them take off and run hard to cover the middle of the ground. McKercher was just running into trouble there. The movement is the bloke running by on his left, the fella in the #10 ... who just happens to have a decent left peg. CD mucked this one up all by himself.
These clubs throw it around because it benefits them more than any other. Mustn't kid ourselves, it would be gone tomorrow if it was in the biggest clubs / fat cats bonus interests to do so.Distribution is the least of the most important factors but that’s the one the big clubs love to throw at us … but it’s bigger all in the scheme of things required to make this an even competition.
Yep it was jam packed, but a CM ball is a longer ball than the CD one … and tha CD ultimately went back to that side … 1st option and the ball is on the wingThere are six St Kilda players to three covering that side of the ground and when he changes direction three of them take off and run hard to cover the middle of the ground. Daniel covers more ground there than any of the players who are sposed to give him an option.
Fantastic post, so true how many inconsistencies and inequities there are and how many of them work against small Vic based teams, really puts in to perspective the over the top hysterical reaction to the 'unfair leg up' we got when we received a couple of must trade picks in the 20s and 30s a couple of years ago!And in addition, be aware of the sustainable competitive advantage some teams possess and the ones that small Melb clubs cannot manufacture.
Geelong gets every country kid to be able to move home because they can buy their properties for a drop of what it costs Melb based players.
Post career employment opportunities are significantly greater as well as investment opportunities at certain clubs.
Free Agency should not be able to be used as a tool when you have a sustained run of success, say 3 years of top 6 finishes.
There’s so much inequity that they turn a blind eye to, and they are the real reasons clubs continue to be successful.
For Brisbane to have Father Son and an Academy is ridiculous compared to GC, so what did they do, gave GC ridiculous concessions that have set their list up for sustained success.
Sydney is the same when compared to GWS who did an amazing job of building their list.
The footballing states have the go home factor in their favour along with Father Sons, plus the financial benefits of being two team states.
But the same sympathies are not given to smaller Melb clubs when they make mistakes and it is not treated with the same urgency.
There’s too few levers to for sustainable competitive advantage for North, St Kilda, Bulldogs (who by luck Father Sons have taken them to another level, that’s the critical factor for them).
And it leaves them swimming upstream without a paddle, but nooone gives a crap.
We were innovative, but sadly in areas that were too mainstream (first team playing interstate, Fri night footy) to be exclusive.
That counts for nought 40 years on and what the **** else is left … we tried the clean cut woke approach but in a cut throat industry like football that doesn’t cut it either.
I’m generally an optimist but I feel extremely pessimistic about the fact there are not enough opportunities for us to get better comparatively speaking to the others.
So it’s just a cycle where us playing finals will be an outlier and normal order will be resumed in a short space of time because of the weight of economic and football factors that play against us.
Distribution is the least of the most important factors but that’s the one the big clubs love to throw at us … but it’s bigger all in the scheme of things required to make this an even competition.
Do you know what happens to the present day version of Caleb Daniel when he is surrounded by better players and a better “system”?At the beginning, I thought Daniel would outweigh bis defensive inability with good ball use. Unfortunately our team is shit and the system is absolute dog shit for this to work. Daniel does not work in a defensive position. So saying. He cant play in this team until the system improves significantly
I understand the trade. We are so stagnant and shit in transition, he simply doesn’t work. Another bad trade loomingDo you know what happens to the present day version of Caleb Daniel when he is surrounded by better players and a better “system”?
He becomes redundant to team needs and gets shipped off to a team gullible enough to trade for him.
I would love if this perspective would get an airing within the AFL media, but given that the journalists are all essentially AFL lackeys, I doubt if it will ever happen. And in addition, be aware of the sustainable competitive advantage some teams possess and the ones that small Melb clubs cannot manufacture.
