Am i the only one whos noticed how much commetti makes wrestling references in his commentating? There was about 5 or 6 in tonights game alone. Said something about the dudley boyz and labelled one of brisbanes players "D-Von". He must be a fan!

Yes Dennis and also Dermie are fans of the wrestling. I heard a couple referring to ric flair, batista and goldberg last season.

Dennis Committi (sp?) is a huge fan. In a cats game last year (vs freo i think) he made reference to the custody battle between eddie g and mysterio for dominick.

I still call it the WWF, it was its name for the first 10 years I watched it. Its difficult to change.

Let's keep this thread going whenever it gets mentioned. I love it how they both bring it up all the time. I remember last year during the showdown, they brought it up as it was the same night as the WWE were on in Adelaide.

Yeah they give constant references to wrestling. It has happened for a few years now.

Not just to wrestlers themselves, but often when describing the play or a tackle or something, they'll use wrestling moves.

High tackle= Full Nelson is one that I heard a few times last year.

I think it was Mal Michael and one of the Scott boys, his "He'd have to be D-von" comment was aimed at MM for the obvious reason that he was the same skin colour as D-Von and Scott the same as Bubba Ray.

During Melb v Geelong he made mention of a scrap being "in the week of Backlash!"

Hearing that in Cometti's voice was brilliant!

He'd be awesome to have a beer with. Is reportedly a super bloke!

Yeah I spoke to him at the races once. Chatted to him for like 10 mins about footy. Really nice guy, could have just signed an autograph and made me go away but asked me questions about wat i thought of the footy etc..
