Anyone beat this, whilst in Kalgoorlie, and being a lover of football grounds and pubs, i like to take photos.

After taking a photo of Ryans Pub, which is not on any main drag in Kal, i turned around and noticed this.

If anyone has a photo of a house done up better than this please add.

And the pub across the road

They had people stopping and having their photo taken when driving from Perth to Melbourne for the GF. Also a couple of years back, Freo came to Kalgoorlie and some of the players went and had their photo taken in front of it. The owners also do a lot of fundraising for the Starlight Foundation.

There is also some guy who painted his Mitsubishi Magna purple and embellished the bonnet with the new logo. That's passion for you!!

And yeah, while I admire their dedication and passion, it's not for me.

And I have never heard that pub called Ryan's Pub before, although from your picture I can see that is what is on the building. But it is actually the Gala Tavern.

Yes, remember reading that, possibly in the West, had no idea it was the Gala, i stopped and had a couple of beers and a punt, and when i came out, i saw the Dockers house.

Driving past the Tradewinds in Freo today, thought i would get a snap, it won't last, it will be renovated....... although some would argue it has already been :)

Wow mate, great photos, it was a great pub in the early-mid 90s, right up there with the Nasho of 1988-1991 in terms of food, booze and banter (I used to work at the Nasho as a glassy - ergo also a doory when the big blokes came to town aggro)...

As to the knocking down.. .Are you f## serious?? How the hell can they redevelop the Tradey?? Please tell me it will stay as a pub and not become some yuppie drongo overpriced undersized extra "trenditely" rendered "fashion experience" "contemporary residences" (pets excluded)???

One of my best mates during my darkest years of early uni struggles was a cross bred red kelpie lab that used to curl up in the afternoon sun on the uphill side of the main door (just where the red path becomes grey).

The number of times I hung out on that footpath, scratching Mr Beaky's chin and telling him my take on the likes of Hawke, Keating, Peacock, Bond (Alan not Chris), Zoehrer, Jako and Doro...

I miss those days. I could probably have bought the whole damn pub for what a 1 beddy in southern outer Cockburn costs now. But, despite the blowout in property prices and influx of wannabe yuppies, every time I go back west - Freo still is home - and Freo is still that magical place that is Freo...

Errr... the tradey has already been rennovated. What, 7-8 years ago. Steak sandwich jumped from $15 up to $25 on re-opening. Still a pub, definitely yuppie overpriced drongos though..

Chiiiiil mate! That's up the road from the Tradewinds (a pub I've been to precisely once, Clancy's all the way for mine :) )

Saw a not so freshly painted, (new logo), stock water tank on the Toodyay-Goomalling road today.

Was disappointed.
