Yep, thanks for the backing up Swanny36!:thumbsu:

I just hate that he is still called soft. That myth started in about 2007 and was untrue even back then, but because he has the long hair and takes speckies people assume that he is soft without actually watching him play. Go on Bay 13 and you'll see heaps of these idiots that don't know anything.

It just really pisses me off that people still say that.:thumbsd:
Yeah no problems man, I love Daisy but not for all the reasons a fair majority of people do (looks, hair, flashy, etc.)

I just love his intensity when he is near the footy, Bucks has even said something along the lines of " If it was anyone else but Daisy, I don't think the ball would have been marked." In his book. In referance to Buck's first kick of 2007 against the Swans, where Daisy was going back with the flight of the ball directly in the path of a few guys running at the footy.

Yep, he's got something special, that's why I have stuck by him since day 1. When he reaches his best there will be a lot of eggs on faces, and I'll let those people know about it.:):thumbsu:

I love these quotes from Mick Malthouse last year:

http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl/woods-answer-critics/story-e6frepf6-1225741674186

"The only blokes who questioned (Thomas) were you blokes," he said to the media.

"You blokes don't think he can play. He's been consistent all year. A number of players had a good second half.

"I haven't been disappointed in Dale Thomas. We know what to expect from all our players.

"That's a classical case of outside expectations on Dale Thomas, on Travis Cloke, on Leigh Brown, on Shane O'Bree and Josh Fraser . . . the list goes on. I'll tell you now we pick the side on form. (If) someone else in the VFL is better, then they will make way," Malthouse said.

"I've said to the players, 'Please don't take notice of anyone outside the organisation because we will judge you the way we want to judge you, not the way other people judge you'."

Those quotes speak for themselves really. The best judge of a player is the coach, and the coach picks Dale automatically each week, meaning that he is doing the right thing.:thumbsu:

Exactly, people don't seem to realise that IF he was underperforming he wouldn't be in the best 22 each and every week, with absolutely no chance of getting dropped.

This is because MM is extremely happy of how Daisy is going about his footy, with his work rate and ethic.

To all the doubters, Daisy is going along just fine at the moment, doing everything that is asked of him, he is a late bloomer so to speak.

Watch out over the next couple of years, maybe even this year.

Good shit Daisy.

good stuff all around in this thread.

The Doggies have nothing to worry about. You caught us on a terrific day, and I think you guys were a bit flat from the big pre-season build up.

You'll get an easy win against the Tiges this week then probably go on to finish in the top 4 comfortably. Johnson needs fitness, Morris helps and a few of your frontline mids were well beaten.

The next time we meet will be a bit closer. But I was so impressed with my boys on the weekend. Yes the Doggies played poorly, but that had a lot to do with how hard we attacked each contest and how good our defence was. Was also good to see our forward line go small and find another avenue to goal considering our talls were out of the game.

No doubt both Collingwood and the Doggies are the 2 big contenders to Saints and Geelong this year. I think we've both moved a lot closer to them. Let's hope one of us can get them in September.

In a fantastic game, we were outplayed across the ground. Maxwell was superb.

Well done and look forward to our next meeting. :)

Thanks Dry Rot:thumbsu:, I'm feeeling the love beween our supporters. I replicate the sentiment that if we don't win I hope you guys can knock off Geelong or who-ever for your second ever premiership. I still think that the Bullies can finish first or second this year.
Was very impressed with our half backs. Nothing wrong with Shaw, Harry O' and Maxwell on the day.

I don't think the Doggies were flat or badly affected by viruses, have a look at the second and third quarters. The moment our intensity dropped just a fraction they were all over us like flies at a picnic, that's what they do, they hang tough and as soon as opos take a breather they come at them all guns blazing. Their a great side amd that's why they come back when all looks lost. Fortunately we raised the bar again, went back to full intensity and took the chockys. When we let them back in there was no sign of 'listlessness'. I can give them credit for a great fightback (that's what really good sides do) but we deserve credit for being able to absorb the pressure and bury them at the end. No excuses just credit where credit is due, 2 very good sides fought out a tough highly skilled game and we came out on top this time.
