What a fantastic game of footy. I'd have to say it was the best 1st round game to a season that I can recall.

Naturally I'm disappointed we lost but will take a lot of heart from the result.

Gardiner would be, in my opinion, the best footballer in the comp. Plus the class of Judd, Cousins and the brilliant finishing of Sampi and Matera got us in the end.

Well done and good luck for the rest of the year.

I'm still waiting for my pulse to return to normal.

Rawlings showed what a good pickup he is. Cooney is going to be very, very good indeed.

Doggies fans can take a lot of heart out of that performance - very gutsy. they cut up our defense and regularly ran through the lines. Also regularly won it ouf the centre and hurt us a lot with first possession quite a few times. Our rookies have a way to go yet - thank god for our big guns. Cousins was sensational. Gardiner, even though he's underdone showed why he's arguablly the best big man in the game.

The Dogs were outstanding- certainly I can't see them in the bottom four if they string together a few efforts like that.

Mate you guys played very well and gave it your all as did we. This was a fabulous game and if I was a WB supporter I would be very proud of my team they will be all right!

He was all class! Especially when you think that through out the summer he played two quarters of footy full stop.

The bloke with the chicks name nearly got us yet again! To me this is a little bit of sweet revenge after Rawlings won the game for Hawthorn against us in York Park last year.

Did anyone feel better after this win than last years Rd 1 win over Port Adelaide?

He seems to always hurt us but at least this time he was on the losing side. Be interesting to see how he goes against us in round 16 with perhaps Glass given the job.

Felt much better, although Port are a good side, it was at home last year and I thought we could get the job done. Everything about this first round was a little unknown. A big recruit for the Dogs, a new season and a new attitude. Plus we were in Melbourne so an early away win was huge for us.

See this is great, an opposition supporter losing and STILL being able to say well done. Shows great maturity from there side and is also a fair indicator the game was a decent game!
