Maybe I have an overactive imagination but........

I reckon the Cats were tanking last night.

If the Bullies had of lost, we would most probably have had 3rd spot sewn up going in to round 22, giving us the chance to rest players ahead of the first final.......V the Cats. Surely a well rested Collingwood wouldn't appeal too much to them at the moment.
They have now ensured by losing that we will have a real contest in round 22 against the Doggies ( mini final ) and they will play the winner of that match.

Last night's result makes our game v the Swans almost an irrelevant game for final ladder positions.

I wonder if we may choose to rest a few players tomorrow, or limit their game time?

I was thinking about it last night, but nah.

Just on resting players, I don't like it, especially late in the year.

best bet is to go out fired up full strength next week and try and fix the doggies up rather than playing with our form.

No the dogs beat the cats on merit

Gellong is jogging (well limping) on the spot currently

Agreed, Dogs had the run in the last, simple.

We can lose to the Dogs next week and still end up 3rd. We would need to smash the swans and not lose by heaps to the Dogs though. Very conceivable from where I sit but still feel it is a danger game for us tomorrow.

You do not tank or flirt with form a fortnight out from one of the biggest finals series in a long time.

Many Geelong players have question marks hanging over them and Chappy going down is not part of an ideal preparation.

There are serious worries concerned with Geelong and they are getting extremely nervous as the countdown nears.

Welcome back JNR..
I hope you bathed. lol

Agree.
Anyone who watched the game would doubt they were tanking.
Probably the best game Mooney and definitely the best game Hawkins have played for months and still no cigar.

We have a resurgent Swans tomorrow and an inform Bulldogs next week.

Winning is our only option.

There had to be a second spitter from behind the bushes on the gravelly road

I suspected the same thing.

The Cats know that when push comes to shove, they can beat the Doggies under finals pressure.

They know the Pies PLAY finals football on a regular basis, and even underdone took them to within a kick in 07.

Personally, I still think Geelong would rather play the Bulldogs than Collingwood, and by losing to the Bulldogs, hope that Collingwood can finish 4th.

But yeah, could just be that Geelong are off their game right now too.

No team would like to lose in the second last round of the season to play a certain team in the finals...It damages the players confidence and hurts your form...they would rather of won and gained the confidence...

I don't think they would've risked bringing Chapman back into the team, and then bringing him back on after he had re-injured his hammy.

I don't think it's a conspiricy. I personally believe the Cats are GAWN! WCE of '07 all over again.

TBH, I wouldn't even be surprised if the first week of the finals sees 3rd and 4th go straight through to the prelims!

Would love it if it happened but there aren't usually 2 upsets in the first week.

I don't think Geelong threw the match at all. They're struggling a bit and the last few times we've given them something to think about without actually getting it done.
