Heeney is like no chance to ever leave the Swans, Tippett might if another club offers him 900k as i doubt he will get that for his second contract at the Swans but he is extremely vital and would be massive blow if he left.

Mitchell/Bird were fighting for the same position with Bird leaving i cant see the club letting go of Mitchell and all reports is he loves being at the club.

It also says his contract isnt up til rnd of next year. We have it down as end of this year. I wonder which is correct.

You'd like to think Tippett would know better than us...but it may have been the way he worded it also - did he explicitly say 2017?

It wasnt kurt that said it. It was the journo thats why i find it interesting.

Ours is based off an article before he was charged by the AFL Commission. So if this articles says next year I would believe next year.

Another one bites the dust

i really do marvel at our list management at times. All the naysyaers elsewhere on BF that Tippo and Buddy would force us to lose our guns, and yet, we have lost no guns due to their contracts. With the cap going up, we shouldn't lose anyone. You would imagine Heeney and Mills would end up taking slightly less than market value just to stay home. A reverse go home factor?

I agree that our list management is second to none...but you can't ignore the fact that we have lost players in Mumford, Malceski and Jetta that we may have been able to keep if we had more salary cap space.

Jetta was always gone. Think it was a bit of money with Mummy. Length was Mal. Think we dodged a bullet with Mal though.

We have done well considering the trade restrictions in the past 2 years

Mummy was a player who we lost for buddy. I don't think we could have signed him under the cap. So 100% agree it was money. I highly doubt we could even offer him anything.

We dodged a bullet with malceski (I think it was a money issue, we couldn't afford to keep him. But it's part of a larger list strategy), but we still don't have a replacement on top of loosing shaw. I am excited about Mills playing off HBF and Newman/leonardis have potential.

But great list management with the contracts. Loosing older players on coin like goodes, O'Keefe, Bolton, malceski, shaw etc... And reinvigorating our list with youth and unwanted players like laidler/Talia enabling us to keep our stars.

ps. J. Lamb was the biggest bullet dodged. Now he left purely for money and I can't be more happy

Wonder if he'll get the three years he has his eyes on. He'll be 29 mid year
Has been decent since his last contract but probably never reached the level we projected.
