Im guessing Ryan is looking at the amount he earns over the next 3-4 years in comparing the 2 clubs offers.
So WC offers him a 2 year deal at an amount close to what Saints are offering over their 3. Make it conditional on form, performance etc & give a trigger for a 3rd and 4th year.

Not hard to do.

Ryan's not in our next September team.

The player we get in a swap for him may well be.

Ryan -> roughly pick 20 equivalent or Barrat(idk), draft a KPD with that pick or just use Barrat

Hes not an A-grader 😂
But yes id be keen, but no ****ing way offer him 900k over 6 years lmfao.
600-700k over 5 or 6 with triggers that could get him to 800 or 900k sure.

He projects as a solid B grader long term.
Pin this post. I bet you he is all Australian within 2 years. I've watched him closely. He is on the verge.

Ryan + second round pick for their first would be a good outcome.
There's no way Saints will do that.

Hawks R1 + Ryan for Saints R1.

He's worth 30 goals in a good side. They have Nas and TDK. Rossy thinks he's be in the flag window as early as next year. Throw in a guy who can take grabs and crumb.....

I know experience helps, but he's doing f-all except playing for free kicks. The quicker we can offload all of Simmo's bullshit, the better.

The Eagles will know the draft. Is there a player available at 7 who is worth upgrading for? I think Lindsay is still on the board.

Don't think Lindsay makes it past tigers and bombers. Cumming maybe? Or the SA big man, can't remember the name.

Not much there OOC right now, if the criteria is A-graders.

Still holding out hope for Warner 🙏
He's coming. He's just cooling his jets. Harley is cooling his jets.

If he comes in 2028 and we fire with a whole new team built around Harley......

With some bona fide stars - maybe Hewett, Ginbey, Shanhan, Archer etc become these players....

Darling wasnt best 22 for us going forward as a 32 year old, Ryan quite clearly is best 22 for us with years left of decent footy.

Very different scenario
Not sure about years, Ryan's performance has declined slowly in last couple years, whether injury related or tired of losing. He's 28 and looking a bit slower and banged up. There's Yeo at 31 trying to stay on the park. Happy to hold out and get a good pick from him. Main thing for me is who replaces him. Many teams have that zippy electric forward, whose our coming through? Brockman, Dewar, Long, Champion, Newton....Owies?

Ive watched him a decent amount, imo if he was that good he wouldnt be tagging regularly.

I do think hes better than he gets credit for, but all-australian level is a stretch

Years = more than 1 year(could be 2)
I think hes been good this year when you consider the team hes playing in.

Of all things to be worried about, our small forward depth is NOT it.

Hard to say. I've been looking at the phantoms. Greeves will go higher than these people think. So maybe Duursma, Sharp, CDT, Greeves. Ok, he probably goes before 7.

Ye hawks first and Ryan for pick 7 looks like the most reasonable outcome for us.

If we could convince Steele to come that is also a good option.

Saints don’t have a lot of young talent , so they are not going to be giving away any in a trade, but I think we should def be enquiring about Dodson, fills a major need in getting in development ruck who can actually ruck.

For sure, there's ruck and midfield etc, but no-one is really standing out as that electric forward to replace Ryan. Champion maybe Newton in the running? Brockman and Dewar don't seem to have the experience or nous for it yet. Cripps is close to the exit door. Owies can help me cut oranges at half time.

Have heard Zac Fisher has requested a trade back to WA and may have an offer from a club.
