I'd be happy to do it but have a feeling North would want a bit.

If I was north I’d ask to swap him for Caddy, who went several picks after Zane in the same draft and yet again North overlooked a tall in favour of a mid/HFF.

Both Essington and Caddy would then rightfully tell them to **** off but I think my initial trade is fair.

I'd be fine with this proposal:

I would hope bombers make a move for him. They would probably be one to say no but a trade I would like to see…. (It’s that time of year)

Eagles lose (pick 2)
gain (pick 5 or 6 and our 2nd rounder)
They could do this because they really want to take a mid like Sharp or Cummings and don’t want to take Duurs)

Bombers lose (pick 5 and 6)
gain (BGZ and pick 2)
They could want to have all 3 Duursmas. They could rate BGZ and Duurs as greater then mix of Sharp and Cummings

North lose (our 2nd rounder and BGZ)
Gain (pick 6)
We could do as Duurs wants out and like someone at that point of the draft

Wouldn’t happen and each of the 3 teams have a reason to say no. Just interesting to see kind of deals I think we would accept

The eagles response to Ryan's trade request was stronger that i thought it would be.

I wonder if they suspect St Kilda are not planning on making a genuine offer to us and are planning a low ball ambush during trade week and so are trying to shut it down now before Ryan gets to the point where he has already left in his own mind and we have to tell him No.

St Kilda certainly don't have much trade capital to work with for a start. Plus i assume the clubs are regular communication with each other and maybe St Kilda have refused to discuss and agree on a ball park value. So better to shut it down now.

He has plenty of suitors, he’ll almost certainly leave. Hope it’s to Essington.

Recommend you people stay off the Swans Board if you are a candidate for aneurysms/heart attacks etc.

One of my fellow posters has suggested;
Do we trade Florent and 9 to WC for pick 2 and then it’s 2 and 20261st for Curnow?

It has actually gained a degree of traction.

If you do visit please be gentle and do not tarnish all of us with the same brush.
If I come over it won't be in peace

Lol. If they wanted to give us florent we may as well have kept petruccelle

If i was a list boss and dealing with a trade request from a quality contracted player i would immediately try and get a ball park value agreed with the other side. Even if the specifics are yet to be nailed down i would want an immediate acknowledgement and agreement of the ballpark value. Like we obviously did with Baker and Richmond mid year last year. If the other club won't commit then i would see that as a huge red flag and shut it all down.

Given Liam has requested a trade I’m hoping this has happened.

Heard a day or two ago that Zane told North to GAGF. North board seemingly onto it now too. Would bode well for us to get 5,6 off Essington if that’s the plan.
I was warming up to Williem. Sad! Off the table. No more do I want him.

He's not harleys level talent where the ceiling is worth the risk. Duurmas made Harley fat. Bad influence on wce culture.

I'd still pick williem over cdt though

Ryan - Steele seems a genuine win-win for me.

We need Steele more than them, they need Ryan more than us. Basically the same age.

Later pick swaps etc. if required.
I don't agree with this.. there is an abundance of slow midfielders in the afl around age of 30.. there is not the same in terms of quality small forwards with longevity of Ryan.. think of how many goals he has been deprived of over past 5 years with our lack of inside 50s and quality of service... jack Steele's is a butcher by foot as well...

massive job you've done there, we will all agree and disagree with different players success.
But I have about 18 best 22 WC players long term in that group, most of the heavy lifting 21/23/24 drafts, 22 draft we got 2 rippers and a few misses.
We have still got a bit of work to do this year and next, but we have the bones of a decent side.

while we need experience around our midfield, Steele is the less desired result.
Wilson, Winhager, Boxshall and some other picks swapped around would be the desired result.

Rawlinson was delisted this week so mark down as a fail. Otherwise pretty good.

The thing I don't understand about Ryan going to Saints is how he thinks he's going to be able to handle Ross Lyon. Simmo always talked about how they had to be gentle with him I'm pre-season and he'd often leave the camps early. Ross won't be having any of that and will be dishing out all-mighty sprays when he slacks off.

If we take the proposed 5/6 picks from Essendon so they can take Duursma, and we in our infinite wisdom take the small ruckman are we sure Sharp would get past bitchmonds 3/4? Anyone know who their looking at?
