Mate, get a grip, Wilson's worth is miles greater than Ryan's.
We'll do a deal if it's in our best interests, but the bar for that is a lot lower than Wilson
If you read my previous posts about doing a Ryan trade with the saints, I agree with you.

The point is, Ryan is contracted and if they want him on a four yr deal they're going to have to give up a player for him. We don't need picks

Now if that means the player is worth more than Ryan then we give up some extra.

Ryan and Hawks 2nd for Wilson.

Yesterday's take on Oscar leaving by Schofield and the dubious 6PR crew, fwiw...

Interesting to read elsewhere that Allen was talking to Bne in September last years. Captain, I think not. Loyal, loves the club - give us a break.

The back and forth on Ozzie....

This was done months ago, surely everyone has moved on from it? It literally is a win/win for all involved.

Sure, Oscar would have liked to stay in Perth since it's his hometown and he grew up supporting the Eagles, but the reality is that the offer from Brisbane is too good to pass up. He has an opportunity to look after himself and his family and anyone would do the same.

Anyone saying that he should be loyal to a club when he has a family to take care of is full of shit.

Pick 2 thank you and all the best.

Wilson is off the table as an option though. I haven't gone over to the Saints board, but imagine after the weekends effort the fans would burn the club down if the considered trading him

Turning Oscar Allen into Pick 2 is a pretty tidy piece of work.

If we can also get extra list spots for NGA kids I'll be happy.

Until we trade down from 1 and/or 2 and draft/trade for a bunch of flankers :moustache:

Yeah, those 3x father/sons looked great just night. And they’ll have Annable coming in this year’s draft as well.

West Coast and Fremantle really should press the AFL to develop Western Academies of their own (with a broader reach than the NGAs).

Need to address the deterioration in the number of quality prospects coming through from WA in the draft and get more kids playing footy.
Yes the quality of WA under U18 is aligned to WC. WA academy player development is missing.

Give yourself a break...I don't care, no sour grapes from me, I'm happy with pick #2, and moving on.

We should split regional WA (non-perth Metro) with Freo and have as academy's at a minimum. SA could do the same.

Oscar - Too emotional and not assertive enough to be Captain. Hope he dominates and wins flags with Brisbane. Bring on pick 2

It would be negligence not to talk to other clubs. How else do you get a sense of your worth? Have no issues with Allan's manager doing that, he got an offer, and took it back to West Coast, who said, thanks but no thanks. That's how it's supposed to work.

If we were pushing top 4 and were short on key forwards we would have matched in a heart beat. It's just unfortunate/fortunate depending on view, that we are in the wrong position in our cycle to make the commitment he was after.

Can't cry about him taking free agency when we have all added Chad Warners name to the team sheet in 2028.

I'm curious if there's a consensus as to what Oscar Allen would be worth on the open market? Say... Four or five clubs interested and presume he's open to moving to Brisbane or Melbourne for the sake or argument.

Mid-late first is probably what I'd say is objectively fair.

Yeah, so roughly the pick we wasted on Brander instead of Allen in the first place :D :straining:

Wait hold on, you saying I don't need to go back to my first employer (20+ years and several companies ago) for a lot less money than where I am on now?

Oscar is a bit like Willie leaving to go to Port where there was no way were going to match the 4 year offer.

I think Duursma is shaping as that "pick him anyway" style clear pick 1 at the moment. If he goes we get multiple first rounders and start with 3 picks and not 1.

As much as people dislike the idea of CDT I think he has value in terms of unlocking Archer Reids move to defense . I think we need to find a next defender from within as nothing is around for us to grab so that could work as a plan
Aren’t you putting lipstick on a pig with your scenario involving CDT?

Surely we can do better with a precious top 2 pick than a ruck who is undersized and can’t ruck.

Can anyone do their magic

Not much to it

Has is sending Ryan plus our Hawthorn R1 pick to the Saints for their R1 pick

Then draft Duursma and CDT with our first two picks and Lindsay with the Saints pick which overlooks the probability he doesn’t last till then

He also thinks Erasmus should stay at Freo and we should chase O’Driscoll
