I would love to see us walk somebody to the PSD. Regain our hard edge and lose the tag of being the wounded antelope ready for slaughter at the trade table. I don't think we are all that respected at the moment.

My read on Ryan is that he wants a better or longer term deal with us and we don't want to give him one. So his manager is shaking the branches on the east coast to see what he would be offered elsewhere with our blessing. If can find a suitor we will try and get a deal done for him. But he hasn't gotten any offers in the ballpark he wants. Which is why he is not being linked with any specific club.

Not thrilled about chasing a 27yo NFA. Sugar hit at the expense of a good pick.
Yeah losing Ryan and replacing him with Ah Chee would be a net negative for trade assets but wouldn’t move the needle on field.

Sounds like the sort of move we’d do though given we’ve just made a similar one (Barrass and Baker). Thats not to say I’m unhappy with Barrass out or Baker in , but our list management team have no idea how to maximise assets

Classic Eagles pickup. Player who's at the height of his value and someone we could have had years ago for a dime.

Great clubman, very good role guy, I’m fine with it, I don’t think it’d cost a “good” pick, Hawks 2nd is probably enough.
If we can improve our list, 3 years and mid 2nd round pick.
Very good HF with good skills, 163 games and had a very good GF last year.
Obviously WC are throwing many darts to see where we hit.
I like it, would prefer a 23-25yo of similar skill but we aren't getting them without a WA connection.
Perfect Cripps replacement and role model for our HF/SF types who need developing.

Maybe but we have to improve our list and WC are throwing darts everywhere to do that.
Sure we will miss plenty but we need to improve.

Would I rather a 23-25yo Ah Chee, sure but we are where we are and I actually like that we are in everyone's ears.
he makes us better for 3 years.

I am of the opinion that we need at least 3 mature players this trade period to help our list and improve it.
I would take Ah Chee over Starcevich every day of the week.

I would prefer we throw good money at A Davies at GC and McVee at MEL.

We are not spending 1st round picks on any of these players, they are all worth mid 2nd round picks and future picks.
Land those 3, add our 3 1st round picks, our NGA/FS prospects and we are a better side without using big draft capital to achieve.

Starcevich and Ah Chee are both slow and will be past their best in a year or 2 if they aren't already.

I'd only go for one of them if at all. Prioritise, McVee, Davies, Moyle, Erasmus instead. Younger bodies with more upside.

In a similar vein

Ah Chee - we've got massive holes in our midfield, a bunch of NGAs coming through who are smaller and we're looking at trading in someone who was previously picked up as delisted player by Lions.

Edit - Correction not delisted but trade for R2 and R4 picks

Methinks priorities lie elsewhere.

Jon Ralph says Hawthorn should offer us pick 10 and Josh Weddle for HR. And thats it. That will get the deal done for a $1.5 - 2 million dollar a year player. What a bunch of jokers.
We can just force players to move clubs now? Notwithstanding the crazy lowball offer, Weddle is a vic kid that would never move to West Coast.

For the people who watch these things like Keys, are these NGA kids and the Banfield's any good? In all seriousness. Or are they kids we are going to list just because they came through our academy but nobody else would use a top 50 pick on them?

Lachy Reid and Hase estimating middle to late 2nd round pick for Ryan…… Don’t see the point unless it’s used to bundle up.

I’m not a fan of trading Ryan but if he does leave it frees up a list spot and a mid R2 pick would give us some additional points to assist in moving up the order a lot with one of our earlier picks

Or we trade for a F2 to give us something for next year

Only let him go if he’s set on leaving

Sounds like all parties are keen so will get done.

Just getting him off the books . Its a gamble once they get older . We have had a shocking run with older players on the park . I think he is unrestricted next year but if he has injuries no one will want him . So any 2nd round pick will do
He’s got one year left on the books and we currently have more money than Jeff Bezos and Scrooge McDuck.

Money isn’t the issue.
