I agree

He just can't be a coke head.

Unless that's coca cola in which case play on.

Coca Cola GIF

We may need to pay overs a little to get one of these types. Marcus Windhager has still not signed I believe so why are we not throwing the sink at him? Or make Jack steele an offer he can't refuse. Petracca is on the market, what about Cripps from Carlton etc etc. Yes some of these guys are older but we need some experience.
We never know what our club is doing unfortunately as we are so conservative, but the media would know if we are making any plays and we hear virtually crickets out of West Coast.

Safe and conservative since day 1, season 2008. Before then, not so much.
I disagree, the establishment has always been conservative. The on field stuff "tarnished our good and proper name" etc etc

100000% this. Use our cap space and overpay someone to entice them. Neale would be my pick with Cripps seemingly not gettable.

The Western Bulldogs offer for Cal Wilkie is more than $1 million per year across four years. Just less than $4.5 million all up. Wilkie has two years remaining on his deal at the Saints and is seen as a future captain, but it won't stop the Dogs from having a crack.

LOL Saint Kilda offering all this money to players and now they are probaly going to lose Willkie & Their key ruck.

This hurts us in our chase for a player (Barratt) for the Ryan trade. They'll be reluctant to lose players specifically an emerging key defender that might have to step up if Wilkie is poached.

Who says we haven't made an offer yet?

And no matter what godfather type offers we may have put out there, if Windhager/Steele/Petracca/Paddy Cripps etc don't want to come, then it doesn't matter at all.

This time of the year amuses me no end.

Yes, with no free list spaces and having gone cap in hand to the VFL for assistance, the Eagles are then going to pick up a coke head already rejected by two other clubs 🤪

have no idea how we achieve it but we need a senior mid that racks up 25-30 every week consistantly and can help with the development of our young mids.
We cannot rely on Yeo to be this and or even take the risk that Yeo could be this.
We must trade a good player in the midfield. Our young mids need serious help.
We should look into Tim Kelly from Geelo….

Nevermind

Sam Flanders has shown he can do this playing pure mid, will be in his 7th season next year so a "senior" body and is the perfect age for us

Already been discussed alot but football wise he is the perfect fit imo

Wilkie is perfect for the dogs, he is very good and their backline sucks balls.

Ryan and dogs F2 to saints,
Busslinger to west coast
Wilkie to dogs.
This is insane. Ryan is worth way more than Busslinger.

Also Wilkie is a contracted AA level player. He's worth more than Ryan and a F2.

Only winners in this proposal are the Dogs.

Eagles: Buss, Garcia & Garcia
Saints: Ryan
Dogs: Wilkie

3 way trade

Who says no?
What else are we giving up here? Something needs to go from us to St Kilda I reckon.

What magic bullet are you hoping for here?

It is a known fact via a court of law that he has been a known cocaine user.
He has been out for personal issues and repeat issues this year. Whatever happened between round 6 where Voss gave him credit for bouncing back and now is clearly just not a kid suffering from some mental health issues. That wouldn't cause a club to want a player out, much less a young potential A grader.

So. What gives you any credit or hope we're the right environment for him aside from geographical isolation?
The point of due diligence is trying to find information to inform answers to those questions. The answer might be that we don't think we can help him and he'd be a risk to our playing group.

He's a high level talent who will likely be available very cheap due to some off field concerns. Doing due diligence is not a commitment to take him, it's to investigate further and uncover as many facts as possible to inform an assessment.

Undertaking that process is a mark of a competent, professional organisation.

I'm a big picture guy, I don't get bogged down in the minutiae. I let the cobblers do the cobbling.

We won't bid on Fincher then. Done :p

Sure. I don’t disagree with any of that.

You’ve not answered my question posed to the other nice chap though, which is what would you reasonably hope to find that could lead you to a plate where you, Underdog, could mitigate all of the facts we know from the public domain?

I’m not thinking of anything outside from a rare allergy where the specific player is allergic to the strains of white illicit powder found in these parts.

Then you have to ask what stops that becoming an issue when he’s playing away or on holiday or anything in between.

I’m not seeing an outcome here.

Yeah if we give Hollands a go on 1 year contracts we could tumble down the ladder
sure. We could finish on 59 percent and zero wins
